Hey monitor should you not move most of these God threads to Religion??

When they get moved to the religion section, they have to follow the additional rule of "Threads/posts critical of religion and spiritual aspects are not allowed here and will result in a B/F/T Infraction + Thread Ban. "

Some people like to have a discussion and actually have posts critical to their religion or spiritual aspects.

It's split so that no one can critique religion in the religion forum. So instead.Philosophy is clogged with religious discussions.

The existence or non-existence of God is a key link in the structure of a lot of philosophical opinion.

As it's already been pointed out, a lot of christians feel intimidated when people try to debate them over their beliefs, so they hide in the religious forum where the mods protect them from criticism. Why they're even on a debate forum is beyond me.

Not me. I'm your Huckleberry. You can line up your 450 prophets of Baal and all the rest of the spiritually-challenged skeptics you want and it won't faze me one bit.

Intimidated? Bwahahahahahahah. From these mental midgets? LOL

 Those "mental midgets" don't start threads in forum subsections where their ideas can't be criticized.

From the looks of the religion forum Christians have started all kinds of threads there.

But the real reason we prefer the philosophy forum is because there's constraints in the religion forum that prohibits us (and non-Christians) from really speaking out.

Well, I wouldn't consider myself a "mental midget" by any stretch of the imagination, but I do enjoy a few of the discussions in the religion forum, because they tend to be a little more creative in some aspects, and it's a place to offer ideas for the purpose of entertainment of thought, rather than being belittled by people who think have a knee-jerk reaction to the idea that religion serves a useful purpose in the lives of many people.

So the religion forum is sort of like an islamic safe haven, in that no criticism is allowed? Hmm, must be needed rules because some are so insecure in their beliefs they need such protection.

That's nonsense. The religion subforum is a place where members can discuss religion and aspects of religion without a thread being ruined by "SKY WIZARD!!!!11!!" spam. It's the grown ups' religion debate place. The philosophy subforum, in regard to religion, is the "little table". In here, we throw food and spill on ourselves and others.

What a laugh.

The religion section is the kiddie section. A "safe zone". Rated G.

The philosophy section is where actual debate can happen.

The title of the site has the word 'debate' in it, and so far as I can tell, debate is allowed everywhere else. No, not nonsense, it's a safe haven for those that are weak in their beliefs, as to have them questioned is upsetting to them. Nothing more.

Those who are strong and secure in their beliefs don't care if their beliefs are questioned, and quite often see that as a chance to 'prove' their beliefs.
