Texas Pastor John Hagee Tells Atheists To Get On A Plane, 'Leave The Country'

The whole idea is to point to you that there are ridiculous people out there.

I think I knew that already, but doesn't hurt to remind me...

Hagee feels threatened by the changing demographics of the country, people are abandoning religion and opting for logic and it hurts guys like him the most. I read a great article a few weeks ago about how evangelicals are losing people quickly and they aren't getting new ones. Their demographics are heavily weighed towards the elderly side of the scale. Hagee needs ignorant old folks to beg from, or he doesn't get to live a nice life off the spoils....

Nothing lasts forever except old Fords.

Change isn't always easy, but it always happens, even to all religions and non-religions.

These people around here act like the scars opened up in this Nation by the
Limbaughs, Ducks, and Hagees are not ingrained in tens of millions of TEAs..

That they are not part of the GOP base..
That the GOP isn't scared to death of them and that is why they won't distance themselves from them..

Oh yeah... I keep forgetting that! well, not really, I just don't agree with them...

Hagee, has also declared on multiple occasions that God sent Adolf Hitler as a "hunter" to kill Jewish people for “disobedience and rebellion.”

In a 2006 interview with NPR, he also claimed that Hurricane Katrina, which killed more than 1,800 people, was an “act of God” to punish a Gay Pride parade scheduled in New Orleans.

Pastor Hagee is a lunatic and lunatics say ridiculous things. He's well known for his strong anti-Catholic views. You know the difference between Hagee and Pope Francis is striking. Which one seems more like the person they claim to follow?

Hardly the first of note to say this: "I don´t know that atheists should be considered citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God." Former American President George Bush

I think there might not be a more reviled and distrusted demographic in this country.

I don't know about that. I think megachurch pastors are much more reviled and distrusted then a few atheists who don't like Christmas. I mean I'd rather be around a Christmas scrooge then a crazy nut job preacher who still thinks walkmans are being used.

that is what is great about this country you have the freedom to believe whatever you want.
The government on the other hand has no right to not allow people to worship as they believe. This includes stopping people in public offices from expressing their faith.

You have the freedom of religion not freedom from religion.

Sure, people can worship as they believe (within limits - if your god tells you to sacrifice people as part of your worship, you can't do it)

But remember - there is not religious test to get into the office. It's forbidden by the constitution.

And while people in public office (or anyone) can express their faith - they do need to accept there may be consequences. If someone in public office advocates female circumcision as part of their religion, they may find they lose their office.

Well, I know one place atheists won't be allowed in - Heaven.

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

They've been warned to repent and receive Christ for salvation. If they now wind in Hell, it will be their own fault.

Oh, I don't know about that. Criminals are a demographic too.

No prob, Logicman. If we're incredibly wrong and there are such places, so be it. A loving god will judge by actions not by what we believe. And if it isn't a loving god, send me to hell.

Unless you are God you know no such thing...

I'm just relaying what the Word of God says. But here's your swan song:

Quint's Song - Farewell and adieu. - YouTube

Except the word of god doesn't say that...

The word of God is also pretty lengthy so unless you have it all memorized by heart and internalized you probably shouldn't be making such huge claims based on one passage...when there are many passages to be considered.

That would be you - the unbelieving.

Uh, First Amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Not really a problem for those of us who don't believe in your version of heaven or your vengeful god.

Yeah, it will be a problem for unbelievers. A great big problem that won't go away.

Not even on the radar. See, people who do not believe in your superstition simply do not believe in it. Like you probably don't worry much about stepping on a crack in the sidewalk, people who believe in other things do not really care what you tell them you think the good book says.

Who was prohibiting the "free exercise" of anything religious, especially Christian stuff. Surely you cannot show me one law that prohibits the free exercise of religion. Of course, bear in mind, free exercise of one religion cannot establish a religion that now infringes on the free exercise of other religions.

For instance, you cannot demand a Christian prayer in a public space where non-Christians go anymore than a Muslim group can demand schools stop teaching class 5 times a day so that the Islam can pray...however, a private space can be made available for people of all religions to worship which then does not infringe on the rights of the non-religious.

Here's a whole law firm's cases that mostly dealt with authorities overstepping their boundaries in trying to squelch free Christian speech.

American Center for Law and Justice ACLJ

And there's a number of other law firms who also take on similar cases.
