you believe in god by heart but you also think he ignores you whatever you try to be a kind person ? do you think we should be more grateful to him if we want to reach the serenity we need in life ? from a religious perspective ?

I'm not sure.

I think someone who doesn't capitalize references to Him with pronouns that begin in capital letters just might be, though.

Careful with that. To anthropomorphise God is to invite disappointment.

'Cause, you know, improper capitalization and punctuation in your second language is just begging for a place on God's sh*t list.

That would explain the ignored friend requests...

I like that definition of "character" where who you are is what you do when you think nobody is watching. If there is a God, then I think it is rather brilliant that they have done an excellent job of making it feel like there isn't one so we can go about our business being the type of people we would be if there was no God watching us.

It is hard for me to envision a personal God, which seems like one of the most egotistical delusions of our time. I mean...really? An all powerful being is concerned with your day to day affairs and the processes of a single life in a world of 6 billion?

I praise God all the time, even though I am agnostic, because somebody needs credit for this amazing world we live in, even the messed up bits because they give a chance to be something better than mindless puppets...or something worse.

Ignore me? Heavens no.

I receive regular invitations to his fabulous soirees.

god isnt a grammar nazi

he isnt (sorrry He ) conservative either:mrgreen:

Whether you believe in a deity or not, all you have proven here is your ignorance of proper punctuation of a proper name, real or not.

I'm not religious, but my understanding is that the Judeo-Christian-Muslim god generally only rewards people for good behavior after death. That means you can believe that the rewards will come later when you get to heaven. For serenity, I think the Alcoholics Anonymous credo is appropriate:

"The Serenity Prayer is the common name for an originally untitled prayer by the American theologian Reinhold Niebuhr[1] (1892–1971). It has been adopted by Alcoholics Anonymous and other twelve-step programs.

The best-known form is:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

The courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference."

If one walks with the Spirit, there are results. Not rewards, fruit of the Spirit.
22 God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, 23 gentle, and self-controlled.

I just voted "other" because I'm an atheist.

american atheists dont dislike islam
Some do and some don't. A lot of them hate all religions.

Me personally, I have nothing against Islam. Although I am not religious myself, I am still very tolerant of religious people.
