Is It Time To Worship God For The Science Of Creation vs. Gospels?

Whereof one cannot speak, Thereof one must be silent. -- Wittgenstein

Nor does science, at this level. The Big Bang is one of many creation myths- not a bad one, mind, but I kinda prefer others that have stories that predate the moment of creation. What was happening a minute before the Big Bang? Like that.

Wouldn't looking for that kind of thing lead into a loop? I mean, hell, wouldn't you be curious about what was happening a minute before what started happening a minute before the big bang?

I would.

I would.

Not me. If the Big Bang was the universal nascent event, what was happening before? I'm uneducated- I picture a bunch of Greek and Norse gods and Jewish prophets and Indian incarnations hanging out, drinking beer and playing pool and waiting for time to begin.
Was the Big Bang a moment of creation?

My faith comes with citations though. The Bible doesn't have a bibliography.

If you discount the living bibliography, that's true, but it does have a concordance. ;)

That's the thing...I don't have to argue my faith at all.

It's good that you realize that. And it's perfectly fine by me. Faith is personal. That's why I don't tell you what you worship or what you have faith in, and I'd like to have the same courtesy from an upstanding Christian such as yourself to give me the same respect.

My point starting this thread is the works of God as we are taught are here say compounded by rumor and nothing more in the form of highly questionable scribbling's. To "worship" God for the fables in the bible is an insult to what is actually created. Idiots only believe the world was created in six days and fools deny the existence of dinosaurs. Do you have pictures of Adam and Eve? I have pictures of the universe! Why not put down your comic book and appreciate God for what IS instead of what someone wrote and re-interpreted 100 times 2000 plus years ago. The gospels are a contradictory collection of unproven myths. Do you love you parents and children for what someone has SAID they are or for what you KNOW them to be? Trash Christianity with all it's history of human slaughter and deceit and turn to what is your world around you. I can prove what God did you can prove nothing with your little black book. Nothing!!

I really don’t understand the “versus” in your subject line. I’m always surprised when folks create one when scientific discoveries are a testimony to God’s limitless imagination. I’ve never experienced any conflict between science and my faith, and as I’m sure you know, there are many scientists who are men and women of faith.

Faith is born when you don't have an answer to a simple question. In faith you don't pass or fail a test to qualify because there is no question. Faith says "believe". That's it . That's all. See how simple it is?! A light flashes on the wall and you are told to believe in it for all of your dilemmas in life. Do not question ever. Faith preys on children as children we are more easily scared and persuaded. The military uses the same principle but they hit on teenagers. Isn't is odd we never see a long human lines of scientists only long line of believers lining of for reinforcement. One thing above all is true of faith, "followers" always have and always will have to do one thing......... recruit.

The science of creation?

Ppffffffhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

"The Big Bang" a term for all creation that somehow serves to divide science and religion. It being 2014 and the world of science being the governor of answers vs. old wives tales and storybook fables why not look at what is close to what really happened as far as science now believes. You want to talk miracle, how about from the moment of the bang the universe expanded from a tiny thing to the size of a baseball in a millionth of a millionth of a millionth of a millionth of a second. That is equal to something the size of a baseball expanding to the size of our earth in the same amount of time! Try to do that at home. Oh, and that is faster than the speed of light. It was simply energy expanding with temperatures in the billions of degrees. So now others with additional information about the start of existence can chime in with more impressive numbers and when they are done why not compare them to the miracles in the Bible and you will agree the Bible story is dwarfed by the scientific world in terms of miracles. Maybe we should start giving God the credit God is due.

Can the OP and the rest of y'all agree that the earth is 4,54 billion years old and we evolved from Australopiths?

The Bible is a bibliography, where do you think the term "Bible" comes from?

Atheists worship science as their 'god', saying it answers all the questions in life.

It does not.

This is not where we need to be taking this discussion.

We get that you don't care for religion, but what is your real point here?

I am just wondering why you believe it over any other fiction piece such as Harry Potter. Neither have bibliographies.

First, my original post didn't say that, and secondly you're off topic.

Oh you must be an Atheist? otherwise you wouldn't suppose I was referring to you.

I won't bother asking or commenting again... directly to you.

We are directed by our faith to be fishers of men. So yea..

I've learned by talking with some folks on here that it's not worth wetting my hook though.

Are you hinting that Darwinist or ManBearPig follower don't 'recruit'?

I know right, I tried making burnt offerings to the Large Hadron Collider using a Bunsen Burner, and the bastard wouldn't answer.

It doesn't take burnt offerings. It takes megawatts; hundreds of them. Twice as much as is needed to power the city of Geneva, next door.

The old gods were a real bargan compared to the newfangled ones.
