More evidence that Christians Really are the American Taliban

It's a tough call for me. I get what you are saying but if a woman chooses a religion that implicitly states her husband can beat her then that is her choice. Should S&M be illegal or is sex different than religion?
BDSM for God

People have a right to live as they want, who are you to judge?

No, people do not have an absolute right to live as they want. That's why we have laws. And I have every right to judge. You're beginning to sound like an anarchist. Are you an anarchist?

Which religion allows domestic violence? I think Islam does to some degree but if a woman chooses a religion of her own free will that says her husband can beat her who am I to impose my beliefs on her.

A human being?

Well, if ever there was any doubt that fundie Christians and Muslim fanatics are of the same vein, especially when it comes to subjugating women, the practice of Christian Domestic Discipline puts it to rest forever.

Only from the interpretation of someone who obviously can read, but does not understand.
Will you read your quote again:

The husband is the head of the household, whilst the wife is submissive to her husband as if the Lord Himself was her husband. See Eph. 5:22-24.

The husband is to love his wife as himself, and as Christ loved the church. He is to be a servant, and leads by example. He is to lay down his life for her. See Eph. 5:25-29.

The wife is to reverence her husband. She is to obey him, so long as his instructions are not in opposition to God's commands. See Titus 2:5, Acts 5:29

He has the ultimate authority in his household, but this authority is tempered with the knowledge that he will answer to God for his actions and decisions. The final decision rests with him, and therefore, the final responsibility, whatever the outcome, is his to bear. A wise husband will not make a major decision without prayerfully asking God for wisdom, and without seeking his wife's counsel. Prov. 20:5

Those, my dear, are the formula to a well-organized family, and a good marriage. Have you ever seen a country run by two presidents? A kingdom ruled by two kings? A kitchen with two executive chefs?

Can you guess why?

Is there anything wrong about a husband who's instructed to love His wife so much so that he'd be willing to die for her....as Christ died for mankind?

Look up the meaning of "subjugate".....

God apparently has no connection to women, but he sure does seem to speak directly to the men. WHo on earth can believe this nonsense? And, what self respecting female would sign up for a religion which professes what is quoted above? It must take a super-low level of self-esteem to buy into this garbage.

Get connected to reality, is my advice to you.

The woman shot in the stadium was convicted of Murder. I have no doubt that there are many here in the US, especially those on the Religious Right, who would love to allow live broadcast of the execution of convicted murderers.

sigh...

Do you want me to list other atrocious actions by the Taliban? Do you really want to liken their actions to this Christian bunch?

Look, calamity, I understand why you use hyperbole in your thread title. It sounds so much better than just saying you disagree with that bunch. But you should be ready to seriously defend your comparisons...or stop making them.

btw, that which you "have no doubt" about is worth about as much as spit in the ocean without facts. Just saying...

I've seen you engage in some remarkable hyperbole and hyperpartisanship, but this is really quite your masterwork of nonsense.

First of all, you misrepresent what this CDD has to say, and pepper your remarks with assumptions.... and we all know about assumptions, right?

Secondly, you fail to show that this CDD business is standard practice in Mainstream Christianity.... or even standard practice in Conservative/Evangelical/Fundamentalist Christianity... you PRESENT it as if it is, but offer no proof of that assumption (probably because there is no proof, because this is the first time I've heard of it and I AM an Evangelical/Conservative Christian...)

Thirdly... you said "American Taliban".... the spellings of words on this site are done according to British English, therefore I am reasonably certain it is NOT an American site at all... Americans do not spell "Programme" in that manner and rarely use "telly" as slang for television, but Brits do.

This was truly a spectacular, epic fail on your part....

Nice hyperbole, kid. Do you really expect this to be taken seriously?

Nonsense. I clearly stated that we are discussing fundie Christies here in this thread. And, I quoted bible verses used by the CDD crowd which came from the same book mainstream Christians use everyday. Nothing there is a stretch, when its said that such Christians are no different than radical Muslims, not even the bombings because radical Christians like Eric Rudolf hurl bombs too.

Do you take "immaculate conception" and ressurection seriously?

The American Taliban? :lamo

Way to render serious words meaningless.

Do you enjoy failing so hard?

Point was that since grown adults beleive in fairy tales like global floods and an ark that saved all the animals except dino, not to me tion the whole savior walking on water bit, I take everything they say seriously. IMO, nuts like those are probably not to be trusted around sharp objects.

I did not invent the term.

Quotes from the The American Taliban

Ann Coulter: "We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war."

Bailey Smith: "With all due respect to those dear people, my friend, God Almighty does not hear the prayer of a Jew."

Beverly LaHaye (Concerned Women for America): "Yes, religion and politics do mix. America is a nation based on biblical principles. Christian values dominate our government. The test of those values is the Bible. Politicians who do not use the bible to guide their public and private lives do not belong in office."
The list of similar loving quotes goes on and on and on...

You don't have a point. You're all over the place, and it's ridiculous.

On our next edition of Calamity Tonight, Calamity will prove conclusively that firecrakers and nuclear bombs are exactly the same thing.

Ummm, one point is that there is only one Eric Rudolf, and he's in prison serving multiple life sentences for his crimes 1996-1998. I'd never even heard of the "Christian Identity" group with which he was affiliated until I checked Wiki a few minutes ago. It's more than just a little bizarre that you hope to lump all "fundie Christians," as you call them, with this one deranged terrorist.

Do you take "immaculate conception" and ressurection seriously?

I do. They're--I hate to use the word--fundamental tenets of the Christian faith.

Well miss, you aren't exactly the poster-child for intellectual achievements of the OTHER side of this argument, that's for damn sure. Incoherent raving, dishonest expositions, misrepresentation of facts, idiotic comparisons between apples and oranges and a total failure to own your mistakes when you falsely represent A as B are not going to win your any Nobel prizes.

Richard Dawkins you most assuredly are NOT. Danny McBride perhaps.... but no, he is slightly amusing once in a blue moon, so your rants fall well short of even his low mark....

Too bad. Boo-hoo-hoo. My heart bleeds for you.

You're in America. You have your freedom to choose! Nobody's forcing you to marry into anything you don't agree with.

Grow up!

That's right. In America we don't spank women for "misbehaving" as if they were a petulant 3-year-old. Hey do that in the lands of Mohammed. Maybe these people should move.

Pray tell, give me one reason a women deserves a spanking. Food was cold? Sandwich was soggy? Beer was warm?

Wtf is wrong with people?
