Atheists, the Pope Says You're Alright...

Because they are factually incorrect and their 'value system' has and continues to do great harm to many.

Really, what parts specifically? But first, let me ask you -- Are they forcing anyone to adhere? Does the Pope have a magic ray gun, which he will turn on all the faithful if the flock flees in mass droves?

Perhaps that a paltry few think they're just that much more smarter and think by replacing sound arguments and logic with ridicule and ridiculous claims of their own, jumping up and down like attention starved children crying out "Look at me!! Look at me!!!, I'm special too!!! Look I am not like the billions of others who believe in a God, I am so much smarter, I don't believe they, they're the ridiculous ones, not me, not me, I'm not ridiculous, I just want to spend all my free time talking about something I just know in my heart of hearts doesn't exist and don't believe in in the slightest" And maybe, just maybe, if they hold their breath, stomp their feet, and cause a large enough ruckus, than they'll get that attention they've so desperately shown they yearn for?

All of this because this chosen few doesn't like to be told "No" so much that they make preposterous claims looking for a magical land that only science can bring which will "liberate" man and tell him its alright to be a slave to his desires they'll come up with a cure for what ails ya because doing as you damn well please and suffering the consequences, which have been shown throughout history to be consequences, yeah, that's soooo much smarter than to not behave in a manner that causes the ailments in the first place.

but you were going to get into specifics, so please, go ahead...

What a display of histrionic hyperbole, LOL. I would hope that you don't think you are fooling anyone here, but then I consider the alternative, and end up being tempted to feel pity for you because you might actually just be fooling yourself.

Never said I wanted to destroy them. I simply said the more mild statement that I want to undermine the basis of their motivation for trying to force others to live by their doctrines.

No, this is you trying to extend my statements beyond what I said in order for you to have something you think you can attack.

LOL. Good day, indeed.

You're not the sharpest, I caught that at first glance, but tell me, mild one, what is to undermine?
un·der·mine
transitive verb \ˌən-dər-ˈmīn\
Definition of UNDERMINE

Now, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, you haven't earned it, but I am giving, so we will say you didn't mean definition numero uno.
1
: to excavate the earth beneath : form a mine under : sap
2
: to wash away supporting material from under What happens to what the supporting material was holding up? It's destroyed
3
: to subvert or weaken insidiously or secretly <trying to undermine his political rivals> What happens when something is weakened to a state of it being ineffective? It is destroyed. Or were you just wanting to weaken the religious because, oh , I don't know, you are bored?
4
: to weaken or ruin by degrees again, you just want to weaken it, to what purpose? to keep it around as your play thing?

So mild one, you didn't mean destroy? As that isn't at base the reason one would try to undermine?

What you're telling me with this display is you haven't the courage for your convictions and want to throw ridicule out against your detractors, because a clever quip has a better chance of catching a "Like" and then you won't feel so all alone.

Good show

and as I had said, good day!

I'm going to save this and use it to piss off atheists at some point.

Oh, it's countless hours of fun, I assure you...

I am an atheist and I could not care less what this charlatan says about anything.

A wee bit early for the pub, ain't it lad? Did ya skip Mass all together?;)

They've got the midday showing for the hungover types, still have time to save my soul if not my head today.

Sure, destroy the foundation of their beliefs. Absolutely. But you tried to say I wanted to "destroy them (the people themselves)". It is kind of rich that you are leveling against me the "not the sharpest" label.

If you don't want your arguments ridiculed, don't make ridiculous arguments that at the same time attempt to make a group of people appear small minded. I really don't mind ridiculous arguments except when those arguments are obviously attempting to manipulate the discussion. You are a sitting duck when you do that, and your arguments are treated with exactly the respect that they deserve; the same respect you gave to the other side, to be specific.

No, I didn't try to say that. I was referring to you destroying their beliefs and thereby destroying them as an opposition. You must have went the full monty and brought the Papa Joe comment along to the next post. You took that for my meaning, which wasn't the case. Just to make another comment on that -- before the roundup their was rhetoric. It was the rhetoric of Papa Joe, not the roundup I referred to.

You can ridicule all you want, I'm more than capable of defending myself, and if you're ridiculing me, you're leaving someone else, who is less capable or less likely to roll around in the mire, alone. The problem lies that the group you speak of as the base of their attack is ridicule, mine is not. Further, and this one is where I get a real chuckle, look at this thread from the beginning and see which were the manipulators, the one's showing disrespect, to ridicule, from the get go, it wasn't me, I waited until it was well underway.

That's nice of him. Somebody should let him know that I said that Catholics should be seen as good people if they do good, too.

Goddammit. I saw this thread was at twelve pages and I knew there was no way in hell I was going to beat anyone to the punch.

That's fine n all, but lets hear what he has to say about occultists.

So long as ye harm none, Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law...
