Shiite Woman in Saudi Arabia Sentenced to 8 Lashes for Sending a Text Message

I only report. I don't decide. Saudi Shiite Woman Given 8 Lashes For Sending a Mistake SMS

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A Saudi Shiite woman has been sentenced to eight lashes by a court in Qatif for mistakenly sending a text message allegedly promoting the Shiite branch of Islam.

The 30-year-old woman, identified only as YH, has been pronounced guilty for sending an SMS to another Saudi woman, containing a list of internet addresses under the name 'Shiite Islamic religious services'.

Why just Wife and daughter? I don't like seeing that happen to anyone.....

Saudi Arabia has an abysmal human rights record, not to mention a dictatorial monarchy that openly supports an extremist form of Islam. It's not like this is surprising and we don't know this already. Perhaps you could do something constructive and contact your representatives and express your distaste at the fact that our Countries remain such good friends with the assholes that allow women to be treated this way. I know i have. How about you?

By the way, that picture you have used here is of the young girl from the Maldives who was given 100 lashes for pre marital sex after she was raped by her step father earlier this year. Another horrible story. At least grant her the respect she deserves and attribute HER story to her. Not someone else.

I'm struggling to work out how this thread has anything to do with philosophical discussion. What philosophical concept are we dealing with here?
 
no and thats why l usually criticize US's support for those radicals.
