Paul, Not Jesus Spead Chrisitianity

Great argument ... Some other dudes said it, so no matter what arguments I post, it doesn't matter, because the council of nicea said it. You got nothing.

No, I don't got "nothing." I got almost two thousand years of tradition with which all extant Christian denominations agree. Whereas you have an extinct heresy.

I have the scriptures .... If you're gonna just count on "tradition" and give up scripture and reason, then by all means go ahead. But I have basically shown my position from scripture, you havn't.

You can interpret scripture however you want but this is religion. You leave your critical thought at the door. All Christians denominations believe as I do, this has long been settled. You are just making things up.

If you're going to just invent your own religion then I hope for your sake you can do better than second-hand Arianism.

I see you've given up, since you can't defend your position with scripture or reason ... (there are plenty of non trinitarian christians btw), you just appeal to tradition.

We can debate whether or not non Trinitarian denominations can be properly categorized as Christian. They probably can, in a way. But you are dodging the point, since you do not agree with established non Trinitarian groups like Mormons or Jehovahs witnesses. You are advocating an Arian christology that nobody agrees with but you.

If you think we are debating scripture then you are sadly mistaken. I am explaining to you that the authoritative interpretation of scripture is at odds with what you are saying. What you are advocating is a dead heresy. If you find Arianism compelling, feel free to believe it by yourself; just be aware that you are utterly alone.

I'm not advocating any one positino perse, I am saying that the idea that Jesus is God is not in the scriptures and the scriptures teach against that, I'm not pushing another christology though.

The scriptures teach what the Christian religion says they teach. If you're saying something different you are just pissing into the wind.

There are many different Christian religions, but if you're just going to take teaching based on dogma, and not try and use scripture and reason then I don't see the point of bible study or anything, If the bible is an authority then you should study it and show what it teaches, if only the church is the authority, then more power to you.

The Church is the authority and interpretation of scripture is subordinate to the infallible tradition of the Church. It's dangerous to interpret scripture on your own, it can lead to things like Arianism.

So you surrender your logic to some other dudes. We have basic difference here then, I accept scripture as authority, not tradition or Church.

No, your authority isnt scripture, your authority is YOU. My authority, on the other hand, is God through the infallible magisterium of His Church. It is God to whom I have "surrendered my logic.". You would be well advised to put aside your pride and do the same.

No ... I cited scripture after scripture in my argument, all your citing is tradition, not scripture.

We never were debating scripture. The real issue is whose interpretation of scripture is authoritative, the Church's or yours.
