There seem to be no minimalist politicians; they're primarily rich, vain, and greedy.

Would a nation be run better if its politicians were instead living modest, humble lives?

A politician may then place its focus on the honest betterment of our nation as a whole.

I whole heartedly agree.

Though, politicians living in modesty to prove their commitment to the well being of the population would never happen whilst lobbying in legal. And politicians commited to working for the public good and only ever the public good would only every be seen in true Communism.

I think anyone who gained power like that of a politician would become vain, rich, and greedy especially in this country even if they were not that way before. Politicians tend to have those characteristics because they are dominant.

Don't you think Abe Lincoln worked for the public good?

The people who live real lives aren't interested. It's the primary reason why liberal democracy has historically been an overwhelming failure.

It's impossible. The world would be better if it weren't.
