Tom Peterson, founder of Catholics Come Home, announced that his Catholic evangelization organization will be airing a new national television commercial featuring retired college football coach Lou Holtz during college football week and ending with the BCS National Championship (Notre Dame vs. Alabama) on Jan. 7. The 30-second ad features Coach Holtz delivering a half-time “pep-talk” reminding viewers to keep focused on life’s goal: heaven.

“Faith is not a spectator’s sport; it must be lived. … It’s interactive,” said Peterson in a press release. “We’re trying a creative game plan, with the goal of winning loyal fans for Jesus and the Church.”

He continued, “All viewers who follow the wisdom of Coach Holtz … will be the true winners when the final down is played.”

How Can I Help My Loved Ones Come Home? | Catholics Come Home

How can I help my family and friends come home to the Catholic Church?

It can be very painful when a loved one leaves the Church. Whether it is a son or daughter, a friend, a relative, a co-worker or even a total stranger you’ve met who has left the Church, there are some effective things you can say and do to help them come home.

This section is dedicated to providing you with resources that will help you help them. There’s no need to “reinvent the wheel.” We’ll show you here, from the wisdom of the saints and those who have successfully been able—by God’s grace—to reach out with the truth of the Catholic faith in a respectful, appealing, effective manner the ways that can change negative attitudes toward the Catholic Church.

There are many excellent resources to help you share the truths of Catholicism with others in a charitable and helpful way. First of all, pray, pray, pray for the souls of those who are away! Also keep in mind that the Bible tells us about how we should (and shouldn’t) share our faith:

Question 1 - Is Notre Dame making the BCS Championship proof that God exists?

Question 2 - Who do you think is on God's fantasy league team?

Another in the seemingly endless line of threads that serve as a platform for homosexual/atheist ridicule of Christianity and Christians.

Why not give it a rest awhile, it is not the fault of those who have faith that your lives are barren. Find something to entertain yourselves, make friends, go to a movie, watch Kim Kardashian, whatever.

Rage, hatred and envy of those who have faith simply because you do not, will not enrich your lives, the problem is within you.

So I guess it balances with the platforms for Christians to ridicule homosexuals and atheists, since apparently we are on the topic of stupid comments.

Wow dude, chill. That's just one guy making a thread.

Spanky may have put the worm on the bait, but no one forced you to nibble at it.
If you have beef with Spanky, keep it with Spanky.

And exactly what and who did you mean by the plural "your lives are barren"?

Are you speaking of ALL homosexuals and atheists,or did you have a specific group in mind?

Question 1 - Is Notre Dame making the BCS Championship proof that God exists?

No, cause then you could say all the other times Notre Dame didn't make the Championship was proof that no god exists. Or you could play the same game with BYU and the various religious schools which sometimes put together a decent program. Notre Dame traditionally doesn't preserve great teams because they keep an insistence that their student athletes uphold scholastic performance; which differs from many schools which cheat to keep idiots in college. But every once in awhile they get a great team together; and this year they happened to do so. I'm rooting for them because I hate the SEC.

Question 2 - Who do you think is on God's fantasy league team?

I would imagine that if a god were real it would have larger concerns than American football. But who's to say, maybe it would play fantasy football.
