God vs. The Big Bang

The Big Bang is no more rational than the existence of God. A Godless theory is just as illusory as a religious belief. Both require faith. The world's leading scientist thought the earth was flat, and then that the universe orbited the earth--knowing more than they did does not make you right, just equally arrogant IMHO.

The big bang theory has measurement and is currently the best theory to describe the observables. What you have mentioned here is the malleability of scientific theory, which is different than religious tenet. We have theories which describe the observables, those theories can change or be dismissed if future measurement is incompatible with the current construct. That's how science works. Not on imagined deities, but on measurement and observation.

Like I said, the same equal arrogance that the theorist is somehow smarter than everybody else. A theory is faith. Discovery of the "God particle" has answered nothing but raised more questions. The Big Bang is no more than a mathematical reduction of matter into a singularity but, IMHO, explains nothing about where the singularity came from so they have created a circular timeless theory to avoid having to answer the question that is logically unanswerable.

The "God Particle" (I really wish people wouldn't call it as such) isn't about the big bang in and of itself. And discovery of it will of course lead to more questions. Questions answered leads to more questions, it's kinda how this works. The Big Bang theory does not attempt to explain where the singularity came from, so you're trying to hold it to something it doesn't speak to. The Big Bang theory states that from all current observations, it appears as if the universe is expanding from a central point. And thus if you track backwards in time, all matter at one point occupied the same space. The observables we have been able to measure are predicted by the Big Bang theory and no other theory currently makes those same predictions with better description for the dynamic. As such, the Big Bang Theory remains, for now, the accepted theory as it is the one which best describes the observables. There is no faith, that's just baseless claim made by those who want to dismiss the Big Bang theory but have little to no understanding of how science actually works.

I would have quoted your last post to me, ikari, but by the time Id striped out the ad hominems, insults & make believe there was nothing left to quote.

That's also a lie. As I pointed out exactly everywhere you went wrong. So all you have left is deflection. How many times did I state that now? And how many more times are you going to prove me right?

Twice in a row

There was no ad hom, those were statements of fact. Thanks once again for showing you have nothing but deflection statements and cannot actually argue your points you tried to make.

There was no ad hom

Yeah repeatedly calling me a liar isnt throwing ad hominems.

I'll tell you what Im bored now so every ad hominem, every insult and every silly inference Im a creationist etc. not only will I continue to not reply to but from now on Ill start reporting them too.

Ive made it perfectly clear why I am ignoring your posts, take the hint the discussion was over a long time ago & Im not interested in exchanging ad hominems.

It's not when you are lying.

Report away. I never said nor implied you were a creationist. Is trying to report me all you're left with now? You could always quote where I said you were a creationist if you want to prove me wrong. Can you?

That's what you claim, but it doesn't mesh with measurement. Instead you said a lot of things, all of which I have countered, I asked you for proof, and you started into this mess. It is not I engaged in intellectually dishonest argument.

Nope (& if you keep reading through the thread you'll see I actually make clear that isnt what I'm saying at all).

Actually it's too boring to read. Like I said "holes" in a theory does not mean it is wrong. We just need to fill in the holes. Current theory states that half the universe is made up of "Dark matter" and we have never even seen one atom of it. We have much to learn...and I DON'T mean from the bible.

Actually it's too boring to read.

I couldnt agree more.

The second the thread descended to ad hominems & misrepresentations I switched to auto pilot, but you need not worry about my blind devotion to creationism or the Abrahamic religions as thats been greatly exagerated.

:

Too bad no one accused you of such. Which makes this a lie.

guys, I think I can solve this straight away. it wasn't the abrahamic god, or the big bang. it was Thor. end of discussion.
