I just wonder how many people here are in some sort of relationship.
Are you married?
Do you live with someone?

How long have you been with your current partner?
Why do you stay together?

I am lesbian I have been with my wife for 37 years.
We stay together because we love each other. We have respect for each other and we share the same set of values. It doesn't hurt that we have great sex besides. But that is not the whole relationship. We have so much more than that.

The questions are these: How long have you been with your current partner?
Why do you stay together?

10 wonderful years on Feb 14th 2010.

Why, because I love her with a passion that knows no domain.

She is much younger and makes me feel horny.

That is wonderful as well she should. My partner makes me feel like i am the only person in her world. She makes me feel horny as well.

It'll be a year on July 1st. And hopefully, it'll be another year every July 1st for the rest of our lives.

Leslie makes me feel like I could be a human being if I wanted to be badly enough. And she's the only reason I've ever wanted to be one at all.

Over 50 years .. pretty amazing, eh? Been with me in good times and bad times. Never complains and always there when needed; and knows just how to please me. What more could a lucky guy ask for, than the loving devotion his hand provides; except maybe a real woman ;)

I am married.

We met in 1996 and got married in 1998.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE him. He is a fantastic man in every sense of the word: trustworthy, honest, genuine, kind, passionate, Democrat ;), tough when he needs to be, loving, etc. I couldn't have married a better person.

My one and only partner. Known each other for over 7 years and have been together for 5 :2wave:

He's everything i'm not :D

We met about 22 years ago and dated back then. She moved to LA and I moved to NYC. We still saw each other occasionally. She got married and divorced. We statrted hanging out again and then one day I kissed her again.;)

7 yrs, come October 31st. We stay together because we make each other fierce. And we love each other, truly.

That's wonderful! Congrats!

:2dance:

Thanks, man! - -I was just kidding, though. :3oops: One of my sons is now older than I was then.

Been together 8 1/2 years and married 2 1/2. Stay together because we love each other, have fun, crazy sex, and reproduced a beautiful baby together. I wouldn't have what we have with anyone else. I wouldn't want to either.

As for me, I just broke up with my girlfriend of 18 months about 5 days ago. It was my first serious relationship, bearing in mind I am 19.

I am sorry about the break up.

Been with my wife for 7 years, married almost 5 of them. I'm usually in trouble for something I say, don't say, do, or don't do. But I've come to accept that it will be that way with any woman so I might as well stick around, because I don't think I want to ever go through all the BS of having to learn all about someone else again.

I'm too lazy to consider anybody else, and it works. :2razz:

I've been with my wife for 11 years as of Easter Sunday. We've been married for three of those years now.

I stay with her because she's smarter than I am, better looking than I am, funnier than I am, a better person than I am and is more humble than I am.

She stays with me because she does not realize all of this yet.

I've often thought this same thing about my husband.

I've been with Gary since I was 19 years old so it's 26 years together this year....married for 19 years.

I love a wonderful man and he loves me back. It doesn't get better than that.

That's wonderful 26 years is a long time. That is a beautiful relationship. My partner and i go back to NY every year to visit the haunts that we used to frequent when we first met. Those places are getting fewer as time passes. These were very different back then.

Reading this thread, I must admit a smile is crossing my face. Perhaps there is a bit of a romantic in me.

I love a thread like this. I think it helps people to get to know each other. I get spring fever too and just want to hug a lot as well. Hugs to you.

I agree that these threads are nice. So often on a political debate site you end up dealing with people in very heated arguments and never get a chance to see the "softer" side of folks.

There are so many people who are genuinely good people 'round here, from all walks of life, and all political perspectives, that it's good to have threads like these where you can get a different perspective than the one get from seeing them debate a political topic.

Overall, great thread.

My wife was killed during a trip to Tanzania. We happened upon some ivory poachers, it was horrible. They didn't waste anytime shooting at us. It was horrible, but in the end her sacrifice saved my life (she was a big woman and sitting in the front seat with the guide, I was able to take cover in the back seat). The part I regret most about the incident, aside from losing her of course, was the fact that we had to push her out onto the road as we were having a difficult time outrunning the poachers (like I said she was a big woman). I miss her dearly.

I'm very happy for you all.
