If you've ever worked in customer service, food service or retail of any kind --- you know them, you've seen them, you despise them.

Tell us any Karen stories that you've experienced.

I think women have gotten into positions of power and are much more likely to stand up for themselves these days.

Of course, there are assholes in every group.

When I first heard about the Karen thing, at this forum of course as I don't frequent the scummy corners of the net, I thought it was a joke. But it's not a joke. Some people actually wanna push this bs. How despicable.

I'm not sure if you mean to say that a Karen is just standing up for herself. But if you are...

A Karen isn't "standing up for herself". That implies that she's being wronged in some way. Karens take something small like a fast food worker accidentally forgetting to put "no tomato" into the computer for her burger and Karen proceeds to throw an absolute, nose-in-the-air fit about something so small and trivial. They aren't standing up for themselves -- they're just being rude to those they deem beneath them.

What BS?

Maybe they're having their monthlies.

What a strange response. Karens exist and they're awful people.

This is a Jerry Springer Show thread. Low class and projecting negative images and stereotyping of women. It's about controlling women. You getting on board means you "know your place".

It has nothing to do with stereotyping or controlling women. We're talking about specific women who think they can treat people like ****. I'm not projecting negative images of them -- they ARE negative people.

I have an idea. Let's randomly find and target a Karen every week and destroy her life. I'm talking death threats, get her fired, take her pets and maybe children away.

What better way to show the world how virtuous the rest of us are!

I don't know if a guy can be a "Karen" but there's a CVS next to my office that is my go to for snacks. One day there was a guy standing at the counter complaining to the cashier about some discrepancy on a coupon or a store sale sign or something. Even though the line kept getting longer he kept going on about the injustice of it all and how the corporation was making out like bandits by cheating unwitting customers out of 36¢. After this went on for a while the manager came over and pulled the guy aside so the cashier could serve the other customers. After I got checked out I walked over and handed the guy a dollar while explaining to him that I was really sorry for his hardship and recognized that he needed the money more than I did. He wasn't amused but everyone else was.

"Karens"

Keep those women in line. They better learn not to behave like men.

Of course there are

I would say that most male Karen’s are more physical and less passive aggressive than female Karen’s

In general they are just Dick’s self entitled Dick’s

A male “Karen” is a Kyle

Yep, he counts. It's always about something so insignificant and trivial but they treat it like some huge injustice. They don't care that they're holding up a line or treating the cashier like he/she is dirt. This injustice against them must be made right!

When I worked at DQ, I never understood the people who would come back up to the counter, throw their hamburger down and say "I asked for NO PICKLE. I want another one." If it was me, I'd just take the pickles off and eat it. Now if they came up and politely said that there was a mistake and they would like another hamburger made, then I have no problem with that. The Karens have the attitude. The Karens are angry all of the time. The Karens are always looking for a way to exert their power over people they believe are beneath them.

I know I said there elsewhere on the forum too. My roommate in college was one. I had never experienced someone like her with food servers. She was always rude about the mildest of things.

I did not know that, so thanks. And Luther is right; there certainly are "Kyles" out there!

Exactly! That's what's so irksome about the mentality. They get so absurdly worked up over the slightest issue and do so with utter disregard for anyone else. It's not cute when they're two and throwing a tantrum and it's just plain disrespectful when they're 30 of 50 or 70 and still doing the same thing.

That's like "we call men bitches so it's not sexist".

No. "Karen" is a female name. It's a bad thing for women specifically. From men, such behavior is virtually expected. But women, Karens, better learn their place.

Plus, no one could do this bs to a modern male name. Try it with Joe or Mike or Don and see what happens. That crap will get shut down quick. Only a power minority has gotta eat it.

Bro, we don't need more examples of "Karen". I think people already got the gist of it all.
