Is there planned another stimulus check probably around election time?

Surprise, I got my $1,200 check but had to give it back to pay more taxes for 2019. What a joke.

Surprised? Why?

These checks and all the other "stimulus" funds were paid for by "borrowing" from the Federal Reserve Bank.

Those of us who are still working, and those who will end up returning to work sooner or later will ALL be "paying this back" in one way or another eventually.

That's regardless of whichever Party takes office after November 2020, or even after November 2024.

Never got my stimulus check, I may have made too much last year.

Hmm... is "making too much" like "having too much" fun?

Shh! Democratic Socialists will run with both of those faults and fix them... stat!

I'm now frequently find myself in a financial state where I have enough money to last me the rest of my life so long as I don't live much past next Tuesday. Such is life as a self-employed handyman plus a bit of Social Security retirement income ;)

We've got to dispel stereotypes. It's possible to strongly embrace capitalism, yet still desire our fellow citizens to have strong & beneficial social programs. No need to portray them as exclusive of each other. In fact, I'd argue the former begets the latter.

(not to you personally - I realizing you were joking around)

That sounds good in theory, but if McJob plus safety net benefits supplies a "living wage" then there is much less pressure on many "job creators" to offer higher pay/benefits.

Maybe. It is a phase out benefit, but if you are getting a physical check, you may not get til fall depending on how high your income is. They basically go Week 1: $0-$10K income checks; Week 2: $10K-20K income level checks, etc. I am not supposed to get mine until toward late June per chart I saw somewhere or the other.

IMO, it's demand that creates jobs, not the producer.

Can you elaborate?

Probably more like Late June or July, the Repubs know they would be cutting their own throats is they don't. Same goes for unemployment extensions and payments, many are Still being laid off so an extension will come except at a less than $600 extra, think half that. Small businesses will get more help, but for thousands if it does not happen soon they will close for good. The GOP and trump are in trouble in November and they know it, if they don't pay at least one more time they will have already lost the WH and Senate.

Think the House passed a bill that would give 1200 each including each kid a married couple with at least 3 kids up to $6K this time but not sure what the Senate ever did with it.

Not quite that direct about it.

Well, if you made over $99,000 you're not getting one. if you made less than that and don't owe child support you should be getting one. If you're getting one and have been paying taxes instead of getting a refund they don't have your banking info and will be getting a check. It's my understanding that they are sending checks out in order of lower income to higher, with some exceptions. They are sending out 5 mil checks a week expecting it to take 20 weeks or so.

Those who are single with incomes above $99,000 will not be getting any money, nor will married couples filing joint returns who make more than $198,000. My husband and I both received our $1200 each in one combined check of $2400 by mail even though we both have direct deposit. I assume they just mailed it to couples who filed a joint income tax return.

I had tried the govt. website several times and had no luck there. If you fall within the guidelines, you'll be getting it sooner or later.

The existence of a job (employment opportunity?) does not set it's pay/benefits. My point is that if one requires $X/month in order to make ends meet then what portion of that $X comes from a meager paycheck and what gets added (or is made unnecessary by) the "safety net" does not much matter.

I used my 1200 to by a pelican intruder 12 john boat, stimulating the redneck economy, well kinda gotta catch those bigmouth!

A few pertinent questions:
1). How did you file for the $1200 stimulus check?
2). Was the filing process a drawn out, pain in the a**, or was it smooth and quick?
3). Can you have it electronically deposited into a savings account?
4). How long did it take to get your $1200?

Thanks.

That's important, because the Coronavirus shutdown has caused a shortage of artificial lures being cast into ponds and lakes, causing bass to "suffer" a shortage of hooks being jabbed through the sides of their faces... But somehow I bet they are enjoying this temporary reprieve. Maybe they'll evolve to completely avoid fake lures, or live bait with hooks sticking out of it...

If an employer cannot pay the wage required, it is quite possible that the employer should NOT be in that business. Or we could just return to the antebellum model.
