Do you celebrate St. Valentine's Day somehow?

Do you celebrate St. Valentine's Day somehow?

    Here is some Info:

While the European folk traditions connected with Saint Valentine and St. Valentine's Day have become marginalized by the modern Anglo-American customs connecting the day with romantic love, there are some remaining associations connecting the saint with the advent of spring.

While the custom of sending cards, flowers, chocolates and other gifts originated in the UK, Valentine's Day still remains connected with various regional customs in England. In Norfolk, a character called 'Jack' Valentine knocks on the rear door of houses leaving sweets and presents for children. Although he was leaving treats, many children were scared of this mystical person.

Yes, I do. We don't exchange gifts or anything but always go out to eat and use the day as a reminder to appreciate the love we have for each other.

We don't celebrate or exchange gifts, but have a funny (?) story. Our first Valentines as a married couple was of course special. Husband came home with a bunch of red roses. I quickly put them in water. Not long after we heard a bang and a slash. On the table were two of our 4 cats at the time, munching on rose pedals.

Im a full blown unapologetic atheist that does not believe in any of the theological principles behind particular holy days but i fully participate and appreciate the ones that allow me an opportunity to express my appreciation in others. Valentine's day is no exception. I fully endorse telling your loved one they are special and their contribution to your happiness does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

On a sidenote, anyone looking for a clever romantic idea to express your fondness for another. I did this on my first wedding anniversary but it would be a great valentine gift too. 1st anniversary tradition is paper. I spent $50 with the star registry to have a star named after her. I gave her the paper certificate that was the offical documentation that her name was forever immortalized in the starry night. Thats valentine for me!

Valentine's day is both Christian and pagan.
    And also fitting for atheists.
