Happy 2020 to all of you at Debate Politics! For those here who make a ready and honest appraisal of their personal flaws and foibles and resolve to better themselves in some way for the new year, I wish to ask, what are your New Years Resolutions for 2020?

Going first, mine is to be more mindful and present for my family. I am often very distracted and my attention wanders frequently, and as both a husband and as a new dad, I cannot go around being unengaged and forgetful. It is something that I should have seriously worked on years before, and I must start doing so now.

What about the rest of you? Have any of you here thought of New Years resolutions that you seriously desire taking on in order to improve yourselves and your lives, or those of your loved ones that you would want to share?

No more buffets- even though Im still somewhat thin Im getting older and I have to make sure I dont get fat.

Good move giving up buffets.

Buffets encourage people to over eat and the thought of that many people reaching over the food I will eat is enough deterrent.

And if one still desires to eat at a buffet just stand back and look at the people in line.

Eat a buffet everyday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Call out fat shaming when I see it.

I've resolved to make no resolutions. I see no good reason to lie to or disappoint myself.

Stop drinking and losing weight.

I need to stop drinking.
Luckily, IL legalized weed, there is a dispensary just a couple of miles from me. So, if I feel a strong urge, I might hit that place instead of a liquor store next couple of weekends.

This picture seem to show catering, not buffet.

I used to eat a lot at buffets when I was in my 20s. I could down 3 full plates.
Now I’m at mid 30s and I cannot eat so much anymore. So to me, instead of paying $10-$12 for a buffet with below average food I’m at a point where I prefer to pay $18-$20 and get a real tasty meal.

Learn to ride and buy a Harley. I want to see if my family cares about me. I figure it could give us all reason to pray more often.

I'm glad that you included "learn to ride" (I'm a bit biased because I used to teach the AMA motorcycle safety course) and that you like HD motorcycles. Many (most?) HD models feature a lower seat height (good for shorter riders) and a lower center of gravity (easier to balance) than other motorcycle manufacturer's models (with a few notable exceptions).

My resolution is: To have NO resolution.
