A fourth-grade Florida boybullied over his homemade shirt supporting the University of Tennessee could become a Volunteer himself after the university announced Thursday that it is offering him admission and a four-year scholarship.

He would be a member of Tennessee's Class of 2032.

"University officials have spoken several times with the boy’s mother, who has expressed gratitude to the university and said the family has been deeply touched by the overwhelming outpouring from people around the world," read a news release from the university.

The boy made national headlines after being bullied by schoolmates over his clothing choice on "College Colors Day" — an orange shirt with an attached piece of paper featuring his hand-drawn UT design.

The boy's teacher, Laura Snyder, posted on Facebook that the boy went from brimming with excitement to crying at his desk after being bullied at lunch.

very cool.....and a nice gesture by the state school

All of the proceeds from the shirts are going to STOMP Out Bullying. The university is covering the scholarship separately.

The shirt looks pretty cool though. Good for them.

Pretty cool story.

What if he's an incel? Don't feminists think incels SHOULD be bullied? Just asking.

A great story, all around.

ESPN GameDay is talking about it right now.

If he was bullied because he was making misogynistic comments and blaming all women for his own ineptitude, then I doubt this would have been a story and I doubt he would have received a scholarship. The article said he was bullied because he made a U of T shirt.

What no one is talking about is no one has solved the underlying problem at that kid's school.

Go play somewhere else. This is a feel good thread.

Don’t you have a white American woman to be afraid of somewhere?

So why didn’t you mention this, instead of, once again, turning it into a “He Man, Woman Haters Club” post?
Sounds like a rock album title.

This is great story and being a forth grader means he's already academically eligible to attend Tennessee.

Haha, were’d you go? West Virginia?

Have you checked to see how old your 'incel' is?
