Just got through with the 6 part series on PBS of Les Misérables.

What a bunch of miserable people. It was addictive but hard to get through because it was so dark. You keep trying to find some hope here and there and they kick you in the nuts for trying time and again.

Despite this miserable sounding evaluation of mine... I highly recommend it. Give it a shot if you like the dark side.
 
Must be like reading "Mary Queen of Scots'. I did that one summer...sat on the porch swing, reading and hoping that it would end well. Yup, dark stuff.

Yeah that was pretty dark too. Les Miserables actually had a happy ending but it was still a tainted dark ending.
 
Binged on that yesterday. True to the book. I would like to recommend the 1st 3 seasons of season of Unforgotten on PBS. Fabulous.

I'll have to check it out. PBS is my fav streaming app now. Binged Victoria and and hooked in Finding your Roots.

Same here. The premise of Unforgotten is solving what Brits call historic, unsolved crimes. Multiple suspects and a bit of sexual tension between the lead investigators.

If you haven't checked it out... It's not PBS but... try binging Orphan Black. It's a completed series so no waiting. You can binge all, 5 or 6 seasons(?).
