Construction workers death

At my age my limit is no higher than a 4 foot ladder

Just to expand the subject a bit, the VAST majority of people who die on the job (not even counting military deaths) are men. That's a fact that feminists conveniently ignore when they demand equal pay for "equal" work. When women covering the make-up counter at Shopper's Drug Mart start dying at the same rate as construction workers, I'll start listening to the "equal" work argument. Hope that wasn't too much of a departure.

There are women working these fields risking their lives also. My mother is a trucker and my sister is a industrial carpenter. They deserve equal pay for equal risk and effort.

Did you know in 2017 that 965 people dead in work related job site incident on construction sites in the USA. But only 72 people dead in military service due to work related incidents.

I’m posting this mostly due to the fact that on Thursday 04/18/19 (which happened to be my birthday) one man died on my current project and another one was seriously injured. These men went to work to support their families that morning and one of them will never go home, the other had a long road to recovery. There are no charities to help these people. There is no outrage over these deaths. The man that died Thursday his death was completely avoidable. If his company would have followed the same safety procedures my company follows. That man would still be alive. But they only follow osha standards. Did you know in 2017 in the entire USA that only 21 more people where shoot and killed by police officers then died doing their job in construction.

And no one cares.

Like you said, many deaths are avoidable and can be blamed on errors made by the person killed. Death is an unavoidable fact of life. Sometimes accidents cannot be prevented. Everyone should make sure they are right with God at all times because very few people can know for certain when their end is coming.

Interesting topic. Were these deaths caused by failure to obey applicable regulations, personal error, or some other cause? They weren't covered by workman's comp or union insurance? Did the contractor have accident insurance?

All of the above but for the job site death I dealt with Thursday. They where obeying the right rules. It was caused by equipment failure. Yes the company had all the appropriate insurances.
