Coke or Pepsi? This has been asked since the beginning of, well, soda. I am a Coke girl. Well, Diet Coke. My husband is a Diet Pepsi guy (probably only because I am a Diet Coke girl, because he has always been Coke over Pepsi).

So I am currently out of Diet Coke in the fridge, and he has Diet Pepsi in there (BECAUSE HE NEVER DRINKS IT BECAUSE HE PREFERS COKE - I SWEAR THIS IS A POWER THING WITH HIM). So I begrudgingly took one of his nasty Diet Pepsis, and it tastes like cleaning products. There is a slight taste of soap in there somewhere.

Sorry, rant off.

And no need for anti-soda Nazis to come in and tell me that soda will kill me, because I do not care. I have very few vices - this is one that I will have until the day I die (even if I die from soda intake).

Coke, baby! I will drink Pepsi given no other choice, but Coke is better.

Soda will kill you.:rock

I drink a lot of diet soda. I actually prefer the taste of diet soda because regular soda leaves a sugar residue in my mouth I can feel and taste.

My goto soda is Diet Dr. Pepper. If I DO drink regular soda then I prefer regular Coke, but if I have to chose between Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi, I prefer Diet Pepsi. A little weird, I know.

Coke, by several country miles.

Don't do diet, but if I'm going to, I'll drink Coke Zero. Diet Coke is the formula for New Coke (from the '80s) with artificial sweetener. Coke Zero is the formula for Classic (and current) Coke with artificial sweetener. It's the only palatable diet drink I've ever tasted.

Though I seldom drink carbonated drinks anymore because they are so bad for the bones, I do enjoy a good Coke now and then...preferably a fountain Coke...and no artificial sweeteners...Pepsi is blech...:2razz:

I own a few shares of Pepsi so would recommend Pepsi to all. Also Frito Lay which Pepsi owns is a great snack recommendation.

Your husband seems hilarious.

Sorry, rant off.

v---the tests came back and the below line says that you lied.

This had me cracking up.

Also, I chose Coke but it's actually pretty dependent (I also drink the diet kind). I like Diet Coke with pizza and McDonald's breakfast meal. I do Diet DP for just drinking by itself or with other meals.

With Jack Daniels in it I can't tell if its Coke or Pepsi

If these are the only two options, I choose coke. If it includes sub-brands, I go with Pepsi, but only because ... Mt. Dew.

I can drink most sodas in small amounts, but I understand what you mean about them just tasting wrong when you are used to your brand. Ever quit soda for a few weeks? It makes them all taste disgusting when you first try them again. It's really odd.

caffeine free diet coke. if we're talking about mixed booze drinks, i could go either way.

The weirdest thing in your entire post is that your go to soda is Diet Dr. Pepper.

I love, love, love ice cold Dr. Pepper in a can, but the Diet version?

I always wondered who bought that stuff.

Now I know.

I can't have a really high caffeine intake, so the soda that I drink the most of has to be caffeine free. I rarely drink regular Diet Coke - it's generally Caffeine Free Diet Coke, and Coke Zero doesn't come caffeine free (but does taste more like regular coke).

 Yeah, that ^^.

Sprite Zero. The caffeine in colas is a diuretic & I spend too much time in rest rooms as it is.

Also, the CO2 in soda is in the form of carbonic acid, so drinking a lot of soda might have negative effects on your teeth.

I don't drink soda much, but I do love root beer when I do. Pepsi, no coke.

I feel exactly the opposite. I never ever drink diet, so that's out. But I can't stand Coke. One sip and I'll be tasting it all day.

BTW, that soda will getcha sooner or later. It may take a hundred years, but sooner or later.

Pepsi.

Except when vanilla ice cream is involved. Then Coke is bliss.

I drink soda purely as a caffeine delivery vehicle.

Don’t like non-diet sodas- way too sweet.

Diet Coke is my preference, but Diet Dr Pepper, Diet Mtn Dew, and Coke Zero will do.

Diet Pepsi only when no other options are available.

Does anyone remember Water Joe... the caffeinated water? I miss that. The ultimate caffeine delivery vehicle.

That was good- although adding a hint of citrus would help hide the bitter caffeine taste.
