Best MJ Strain

No matter your favorite type, I think they are all best grown organically in a greenhouse. Best of indoor and outdoor and no harsh chemicals. Use companion plants for pest prevention. Marigolds work great. Damn aphids are the worst!

Having done my share of growing, i never ordered seed with proven genetics. Call me crazy but i like the variation in random bag seed (as rare as those seeds are these days) IMO. Organic greenhouse grown, is best.

But of course that's always dependent on the quality of the bags of weed you decided to choose, remove, and germinate/grow seeds from. If you choose the stuff that looks to have been run through a10,000 lb hydraulic press and crushed into blocks, then stored in a warehouse in northern Mexico for several months, you are probably going to be disappointed! One of my friends experimented with various seeds, including some from commercial grade weed. He grew it outdoors, and ended up at season's end with a single plant that was legitimately 14-15 feet tall and very wide! But it's finished buds had very little stickiness and trichomes. It was a VERY impressive plant that produced VERY underwhelming bud.... It was a shame, because a forest of plants that size would be incredibly productive in weight and bud size(if it produced good quality bud, which in this case, it didnt).

But we grew a few plants most years from about 1987-93, always using seeds plucked from bags of good pot, most of the bags of pot where we sourced the seeds from were bought by my partner, because he was a true-blue pothead(but I wasnt). We ended up each year with a mixture of comparably good pot(for the timeframe, compared with commercial grade). But I think the most we ever ended up with was maybe a total of 3/4 pound of dried bud in 1 season.

Good genetics are a must. No matter how much you polish a turd, it's still a turd. Bad genetics will never produce good bud. Light is the plants food, everything else is a supplement. Don't overwater/fertilize and all should be good.

Some of my favorites, og18, not an extremely high thc content but an overall asskicking smoke and very tasty. I also really enjoyed holy grail kush which has some og18 in it.

For a sativa a good landrace colombian gold or arjan's haze.

I also enjoy a good lemon skunk.

I love vaping, but I have only dabbed a few times. I agree, it is too harsh. Dabbing is to vaping what a bong hit is to taking a puff on a joint. A one gram vape cartridge lasts me a couple weeks. When my THC tolerance builds up I just take a couple days off and I am back. I have never had any issues with harshness on the lungs due to the heat but that might be because I suck it into my mouth first and then inhale rather than just inhaling it straight into the lungs from the pen.

I really don't like smoking MJ. It seems like a waste of THC as so much of it is lost during combustion. The smoke is much harsher on my lungs than a vape pen ever is. And the odor follows you everywhere. When I vape the smell doesn't "cling" to me.

When I do get my hands on actual leaf my preferred method of consuming it is to vaporize it. Note for the noobs: vaporizing and vaping are two different things. With vaping you are inhaling from the heated concentrate. With vaporizing you pass heated air over the MJ leaf and inhale that. It is hot enough to get all the goodies and taste out of the leaf without combusting it. However, I do find the heat from the small vaporizers uncomfortable on the lungs. So I use a desktop vaporizer similar to a Volcano. I can either run a long tube from it, which gives it time to cool down as it passes from the machine to the mouth, or you can simply fill up a bag with the vapor and sip on it from that, in which case it is room temperature.

As for strains? While I prefer Sativa to Indica, I can't honestly say I have a preference among the substrains. The conditions it is grown in has almost as much to do with their flavor profiles as their genetics do, so you can have different experiences with the same strains if they were grown by different cultivators. But I have never really been one who is good at noticing the finer differences between various cigars or wines either so maybe my palate just isn't refined enough to notice the differences.

Using marijuana is not addictive, however, growing it is. I allegedly grew for a few years, it was fantastic and then the folks with body armor and pop guns showed up and took my t-bird away. Ah the good old days. Anyway I'm a sativa fan overall and really enjoy a good haze. I do however also like a good strong indica in the evening. As an old hippie I loved sharing with my friends and constantly looking for new tastes. Everyone should be able to grow their own in their home.

Only grown about 30 plants to maturity, over the years. Always decent to potent (but always tasty, i take the time to dry and cure properly, at least a 30 day process, very important for the best results)

Just because the seed comes from a mediocre bag, does not mean the grower gave a damn and let the seed reach full potential. Novices often get impatient and harvest early (Speaking for myself, at least) Big mistake.

Would i have had more consistent results with pedigreed seed? Likely so, but i liked the mystery.

More growers should let at least one male plant breed, for future diversity.

I have not smoked since 2008 before I joined the army, But I quite well remember the stuff, and how two different buds of different growing means and strains with the same thc would give completely different highs.

Probably just in my head, but I'd swear sometimes I could taste the fertilizer base whether avocado skins, wheat chaff, hydroponic (synthetic fertilizer) or others.

I am the same way, not a big smoker. Rather watch the most fascinating plant, grow. I used to love doing a wet manicure before cutting the plant. Would spend an hour trimming a plant that yielded an ounce.

Hence my opinion, organic greenhouse is THE way to go. Pesticides? Hell no, benificial insects and companion plants like marigolds. Synthetic fertilizers might be great for fast growth but not for a tasty, cured bud.

Ladybugs, lacewings. There are more, those just spring to mind. Ladybugs love aphids, i hate those damn aphids. Also, never run a praying mantis off, they also eat pests.

thanks. marigolds, lady bugs and lacewings

Agricultural extension agent. Every county has them, and they are experts in their locale. Government service, free. Give 'em a call.

You're on it, the internet will give you all the information you could ever need or want legal state or not. Experience and lots of observation. Get ya' a five gallon bucket, some one gallon paint strainers at any local home depot or lowe's. While in the garden dept. get ya' a pack of five foot bamboo stakes and a roll of the green tie wire, they are usually right next to each other. The only soil I would use is if they have scott's potting soil otherwise I would buy fox farms soil. Get ya' a cheapo two outlet air fish pump. I use the bucket with about three gallons of water in it. Put some weights on the ends of your air lines so they stay submerged when you turn the pump on. Fill the paint strainer with some bat guano and worm castings (poop), tie the top of the bag closed with green wire and make the piece long enough(one foot or so) to hang the bag into the water where it will be completely submerged when thoroughly wet. Just lay something across the top of your bucket and tie the bag to it so it hangs in the water without touching the bottom.Turn on the pump let it brew for a day or so and then add a few tablespoons of grandma's unsulphured molasses and let it keep brewing for another day or so. DO NOT, turn the air pump off during this process. It's completely organic. What you are doing is basically creating a ton of microbes and feeding your soil. Different guano's have different NPK numbers. In my opinion, a good ph tester is a must. After you make your brew, ph test it and try to shoot for about 6.3. You can use ph up and ph down to adjust. I also would recommend smart pots or a knock off of them. It prevents the roots from circling. Have fun. Don't overwater or over fertilize, the two biggest beginner mistakes.

So,,, what's been your consistently favorite strain?

I've been liking Girl Scout Cookies for a while now. It's a good mix of sativa and indica traits, making it perfect medicine for what I'm dealing with - energetic start, quick to sleep finish, and a couple hours in between of feeling really good.

Of course, that's if I'm getting the fancy stuff. I have a friend who enjoys growing but not smoking, and he recoups his costs by selling some incredible outdoor to his friends for $300 a QP. Sadly he never shares the secret of the strain - I'm thinking he's lost track over the years...hehe...

But, like any good dope, consume enough of it and you start to get immune, so to break that up a bit I'll buy an ounce of GSC, or some other indica forward blend containing at least 20%THC, and then go back to the outdoor.

I've been smoking a lot of joints lately, but generally prefer to dry flower vape or use a bong. But my vaporizer is on it's last legs, and I'm looking for a replacement...but no idea what to get, and frankly it's been nice to just smoke a spliff...though not very healthy, so I'm going to have to get figuring this out soon.

I've given up on keeping track of every strain that I smoke . . . it's a different one every two weeks or so. GSC, though, that one sticks out. It's the sort of strain that I have to go easy on, or else I'll just put myself to sleep.

Yes, that's what I like about it - I wouldn't call it recreational, better as medicine. I have really bad anxiety, and the normal meds they give for that produce side effects that are worse than the illness - I turn into a vegetable, essentially, which is not good, being the father of an energetic and inquisitive 6 year old who loves to hang out with his dad. I also have a really stressful job...hehe... So, I need a finish line to focus on - get through the next however many hours, and I'll have some relief, after the little man goes to bed (I don't medicate when he's around for the same reason I don't like to use the traditional meds - he needs Dad to be Dad).

So, first session, either two load ups of the vape or half a spliff, gets me in the mood to do some stuff - watch TV, do some writing, play some video games, etc, and then, when I'm starting to burn out, I have another session, which is generally quickly followed by a great sleep, something that anxiety sufferers will tell you is a real relief in itself.

I love trying new strains, but finding the right medication was far more important. Pretty much any blend where indica is higher than 60% of the genetic blend, and THC is at 20% or higher addresses this need, but I find the "Go straight to Bed, do not pass Go, do not collect $200" on the second session aspect of GSC makes it one of my favorites.

I saw the title of this thread and thought it was about Michael Jackson. I was like, “I like the Thriller era MJ strain”. Then I took another hit off of my sativa oil pen.

Got a nice little collection of goodies. All 1000mg oil cartridges for vape pen.

- OG Kush (always liked this strain. Very relaxing)
- Durban Poison (not specifically cross-bred. A pure sativa)
- OG cookies (OG Kush x Girl Scout Cookies)
- Platinum OG (OG Kush x Master Kush x Something else)
- Grand Daddy Purple (Big Bud x Purple Urkle)
- unidentified "indica" 2x.

Holy Gezmus, Girl Scout Cookies or Wedding Cake are my new fav strains. Heavy hitting cerebral effects at first, then sedating, munchies. Horny is not even the word to describe.

I've been giving Karen her "brownies" ever since she checked into the VA hospital, and she's going to be there for about four more weeks. But I would like to bring her a "pen" with something in it that she can hit on to get a nice buzz.

She is immobilized in a special floating bed for patients who just had pressure sore flap surgery so she is bored out of her mind and crazy homesick. She is not even allowed to sit up for the next month, so a nice buzz would be wonderful.
But it has to be a pen because she cannot stink up the room or generate smoke.
She has a pretty high tolerance, and normally smokes it for her muscle spasms and her anxiety.
It is her anxiety that is running rampant right now, as you might imagine.

We're in California, totally legal to buy, I just want what will deliver with the least amount of fuss.
I see her every day so I'll just bring it in, sneak it to her and go home and repeat tomorrow, etc.
She has her own private room, and the staff love her to pieces.

The best strain for her condition is a potent hybrid like I mentioned, Purple Punch, or Gorilla Glue. There are concentrates in vape form that have much more therapeutic effects. Karen is in my prayers friend and try an edible brownie in a heavy Indica strain. You really touched me buddy.

We have the brownies already and they're awesome. It would just be great to let her take a hit once in a while.
She's pretty limited in what she can do besides watch TV, get on the internet or play her little online games, eat and sleep.
I can't even pick her up and hug her because the stupid bed is like a tub. You have to be completely immobilized or else you bust the stitches on the flap surgery, and it takes a month to six weeks for the area to heal up.

She is sunken down and floating inside that damn thing, it's horrible.

I'm going to go to our dispensary tomorrow and try to buy her a pre-filled pen of the good stuff.
She has a crap ton of excellent bud sitting here at home which she can't touch because you can't SMOKE over there.
(Technicality!!! Vaping is vapor and no one will smell it - - I hope)
