How to get free media advertising 101: place some controversial product on display (in one location?), get some outraged feedback and then boldly announce that you have changed company policy.
“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” ― George Bernard Shaw, Man and Superman

Considering a little controversy is fantastic for sales, I think they are stupid to remove it. Considering we live in a free country, there is no political reason they shouldn't.

Their best bet is to tell her that removing it was fake news and watch it explode.

Otherwise, let someone else pick up the revenue they were too nervous to fight for.

It's kind of appropriate to have that shirt on a dummy isn't it?

I don't know. They couldn't have predicted who it would be to complain. But they did get luckily appropriate.

Either that, or on a model with an excessive amount of silicone on their chest.

I think you've got something there. Maybe "fake news" referrs to the wearer's chest.

I think so. If I was a plastic surgeon, every breast implant would come with it's own complimentary squeeky toy

That's a scary thought if you have a dog.

In this era of Amazon, brick-and-mortar stores cannot afford to offend anyone.

Sure, that store was cowardly to remove those T-shirts, but let's be honest: All of us are cowards in our public lives.

So let's not judge that department store.
