No rain so numbers were ok.

Four screams, about a half dozen who were too scared to get their candy.

WINNING

Rained most of the night, but got a good number during the one hour it wasn’t raining. We knew it was going to rain so we did a bunch of Halloween events throughout the week so our youngest son still got his fill of fun.

Beautiful weather, very few Tricksters.

Weather was great. Only had a couple of dozen kids. I'll be closing shop in half an hour.

Got rid of 72 of the 75 candy grab bags we made. Pretty good for a house where it's hard to see that we're open for Halloween business.

I have never celebrated Halloween in my life.

Going the extra mile.....LOVE IT!

I have never celebrated Halloween in my life.

During the 1970's in Rockford Il it was so awesome...lots of effort, and there was a big premium on being scary.....most of that is all gone now.

I do however generally have the scariest house in the neighborhood.

I even refuse to follow the rule about the porch light.

****-em if they cant take some fright.

Damn! You guys make me feel like a curmudgeon ...

Went fishing, and a stingray kept stealing my bait. Of course, I don't see the point in celebrating a harvest festival in spring, stupid imported commercial nonsense.

It rained here all day but stopped just in time for Trick or Treat until the last half hour and then it really came down. I sure hope these kids don't end up sick. We are currently under a flood watch.

We had lots of kids but when the rain really started coming down they stopped coming So I divided what candy we had left and had hubby take it to the kids across the street that had got caught in the rain cutting their evening short. They were in the garage getting out of their soaked costumes. When they got the candy I heard some WooHoos and they shouted thanks from across the street!

Police in their cruisers always canvas the area and pass out candy too.

Lots of cute kids. Most all with their parents and the costumes were exceptional, expensive and store bought and they looked adorable.

When I was a kid I never remember my parents accompanying me on Trick or Treak nor do I remember having a store bought costume. Mom would dress us up making our costumes. We never had any special bag or plastic pumpkin to collect our treats. We used pillowcases and at the end of the night they were so full I remember dragging it at the end because it was so heavy. But in those days you didn't just get a handful of candy but apples, oranges, caramel and candy apples, popcorn balls and other made up bags of candy. Some would be passing out cider and donuts.

It's a different time.

It just now strikes me that there was an age donut this year that I have never noticed before though which might have been there...between about 7 and 13 were very under represented. If the donut hole did show up they were taking care of younger subs.

Interesting.

Lots of kids this year compared to two years ago (missed last year as I was on a business trip) Surprisingly about 40% of the kids to my door were East Indian this year. Down the block a guy created a "Carnival" with a person on stilts, a fire eater and a few other events. It was done on his drive way and garage. For such a small space to work in, it looked well done and was quite busy. He had a line up of kids to go in and see it.

One kid about 14 going with his family and younger siblings had the cheapest costume, of just a small garbage bag over his head with holes cut out for his eyes

Great weather, great fun!

I only have one daughter and we ended up with a pillowcase full of candy. Also got an all time record high number of full size candy bars (5) and we definitely do not live anywhere near a "rich" neighborhood. Life is good!

it was disappointing...

the significant put up the decorations before we were dry from the last swim on Labor Day but took them down yesterday morning!!!!!!

Who takes down holiday decorations before the holiday is completed?

She is always doing this kind of stuff.... A compulsive disorder that is hard to live with.

My grandson had on a dinosaur costume with his head poking out the mouth... made him look like the dinosaur was swallowing him. Pretty cool.

My granddaughter had on a Star Wars costume. Home made. My son, an artist did a great job. I don't know the name of the characters in Star Wars so I can't say who she was dressed as.

So really, it was the same old same old.

I was gonna theme mine to William Crawford’s execution, but on account of the expectant rains, we just did the tetherball part.
