In your California world, maybe. Your typical Nebraska farmer isn't a Democrat, however he might vote for a Joe Manchin (D-WV) style Democrat on occasion.

Yes, there are plenty of conservative farmer types in Nebraska. There's also places like Omaha and Lincoln, and plenty of farmers live in those areas as well but Omaha and Lincoln ARE cities, and make up a fairly significant portion of Nebraska's population.
There are plenty of independents in those cities who might vote either way, depending on a lot of factors.

Welcome to 2018 politics folks. Maybe I'll just make my own decision what side I want to choose. Sure as hell won't be democrats or republicans. George Washington warned us about this. He was so ****ing right. This site isn't "debating", this is a place to just yell at each other and say how "I'm right, and the other side is wrong". Yes I've said stuff that all Liberals do this, however I'm trying to get away from that. I will ****ing leave soon. And this time permanently.

Hey you asked for examples. I didn't even touch on the fact that all of his heroes, Rodrigo Duterte, Tayyip Erdogan, Jair Bolsonaro and Kim Jong Un are all authoritarian dictators, the latter of which is more than happy to kill outright ANY opposition whatsoever.

News flash, if your heroes are all extremist authoritarian dictators who are fond of criminalizing the democratic process, chances are pretty good that you're all about criminalizing and destroying the democratic process, too. I mean, maybe it's just a hunch, ya know? :lamo

Folks on the Right jumped up and howled when liberals took exception to Trump's stated fondness for the idea of being "President for Life" and they insisted that Donald "WAS JUST JOKING!!!"

Donald Trump has never joked about anything in his entire life when it comes to acquiring and locking down power, or exacting revenge. In fact, when it comes to revenge, his second book, "Think Big" (of which I have a copy) devotes an entire chapter to revenge, and why revenge is so goddamned important to him.

Is my post about YOU? Yeah, part of it was. It HAD to be, because I have grown weary of batting the same tired old tropes over and over again, long debunked shibboleths about liberals. I know what I believe in, and I know what a lot of other liberals believe in, and it bears very little resemblance to the nonsense that you love to spew forth with ad infinitum.

This is a game for you. You're all about "attacking the LEFT and LEFTISTS", as if we're the enemy.
And you're in good company.
Most of us aren't even "leftists" as you describe them, we're just liberals, and the extreme Left people are a fringe group who never gain much traction until things get so bad between the vast majority of rational people that no exchange of ideas is taking place anymore.
Well, when the town square has turned into a tribal battlefield where the only goal is stomp the other side into submission and gloat over its defeat, and seal the doors to the democratic process shut, that's when the extremists gain ground.
You're looking for "leftists", and when you can't find any, you'll make them up out of thin air.

So I guess to you, all of us Democrats and liberals are "leftists".
When someone tells me what they think, I take them at their word.

Like I could give two rat's asses what side you choose.
I say that because it is already clear what side you chose a long time ago, and you're not the least bit interested in knowing what anyone outside your circle thinks, else you wouldn't devote so much effort to controlling the messaging from the liberal side.
To you, if someone else is right, it must be because you are wrong.

And as a liberal, I have to be willing to invest in the art of the possible with conservatives, and honest to God, I do try.
But it's not possible when the only thing they're interested in is SLINGING MUD and ATTACKING.

And by the way, the last time anyone in a leadership position went running around warning of a looming invasion, it was the Summer of 1964 in Mississippi.

Don't think we don't understand what Trump is up to with this hysterical nonsense about an invasion of illegal aliens and sending thousands of troops to the border.

It's not even about turning them away, the U.S. Border Patrol is more than capable of doing that all by themselves, as they should be, and it's not about responding to asylum seekers, there's a process for that, too and Immigration and Customs Enforcement is capable of dealing with that, too.

It's about whipping Americans up into a frenzy...and that's ALL it's about.
That's all it ever was about and that's all it ever will be about.
And that's yet another example of how Donald Trump is destroying democracy.
He's creating another alternate reality, and stirring up hatred and xenophobia, and blaming it all on Democrats.

I'm the same way. If I see something that interests me, I read about it and back it up with other sources. I don't take places like Drudge Report, or Palmer Report, or **** like that, seriously. I use valid sources - sources that have been valid for many years. I wonder before about 3 years ago, how many would have had a problem with NYT or WaPo. Probably not many, but now, it's OMGZ FAKE NOOOZE. The NYT published its first paper in 1851. That means that this newspaper published stories on the Civil War. In fact, the man who started the NYT, Henry Raymond, stood outside the offices of the paper and shot looters with a ****ing Gatling gun to keep them away from the offices of the paper, during the Draft Riots. I'm sorry - newspapers who have stood the test of time for almost 170 years are not fake news. They'd have been long gone years ago if they were.
