So I have my mosin that was refinished, and just bought a bayonet for it, the only piece missing is the tin oil can. However my mosin has part of the stock cut off, and I a now looking for a replacement stock that is complete, as well as maybe an archangel stock since it can be swapped back and forth fairly easy.

My other big project which has yielded me no luck is my m1903a1 remington, as the barrel was cut down and a flash suppressor installed which makes it unable to take the original stock, it is a good shooting rifle however stock options are few and far between, I have thought about making my own stock, and buying one, but there are next to no options for an 03 springfield, which makes it difficult to decide short of going full custom.

Pics of the Mosin? A 91/30?

My daughter is asking for a replacement stock for her 10/22.....she is eyeballing a synthetic pink "Muddy girl" adjustable......its hard for me to look at without getting a bit queasy. :(

I can likely dig up a pic of it, but if your daughter wants a perty pink stock let her go for it, as long as it is not destroying a good piece of historical firearmness .

for pics here is an older pic of my gun collection, it has grown since then and the mosin is dead middle, refinished with true oil after the previous retard I mean owner thought mixing shellac satin polyurethane and other stains was a good idea. Notice it is missing much of the forearm section.

The furniture on the Mosin looks good. but the cuts are noticeable....the pistol at the bottom right...Ruger .22??

Nah, her 10/22 is only about 10 years old...pretty new sporter…..she wants the adjustable due to her shorter arms, and I can see her point; but camo pink? *sigh*

The revolver is a heritage 22, the cheapest 22lr revolver on the market, and also the most rugged and proven one. On the pink camo let her be, seriously girls gonna be girls and women gonna be women, there is no fighting it, if you gave her the rifle you might as well accept it is gonna be decorated in pink camo and flowers.

Also the furniture on the mosin looks good because of the hand oiled finish, when I got it it was so hideous it would make anyone cry looking at it, I got it because a friend needed money bad and also considered it beyong repair, besides the bubbled finish from non matching stains being used, the bolt jammed easily, he considered it beyond repair. I stripped the stock down and finished it with true oil, and I shimmed the reciever to fix the bolt issue, it was because being a ww2 stock it had shrunk over the decades causing fitment issues.

I have a Ruger single 10 in a stainless finish....looks nearly identical; it was the perfect pistol to start the kids on for safe handling and basic marksmanship...and you are correct...rugged and reliable.

Are all internals on the Mosin original? In the inability to locate a replacement stock, have you considered having one cut and finished?

I have already accepted her 10/22 is going to be a cornea scorching color....I suppose the upside is, it'll never be stolen

The mosin is all original except the modified stock, no holes in the reciever no modified barrel, the cyrulic serial number still present, and the american serial number barely present as it was an early import, before there were requirements on depth of the stamping whereas later imports had deep enough stamping they would never fade. I can get a full replacement and I plan on it, as many in the past still hold onto and sell originals after they converted them to archangel stocks, me I love the absolute rugged simplicity of that soviet workhorse, and would rather keep it as intended.

My 03 however is not original, the reciever was driller for a scope and the barrel cut and new sights were silver soldered on, there is no returning it to it's ww2 glory days even though it was an extremely rare remington m1903a1 whereas almost all remingtons were a3 models, with most the a models sitting under the ocean from u-boat attacks. It is an awesome shooter, but I want something different from the only style aftermarket stock available.

On the 10/22 the pink would make it unique. In afghanistan I had a hot pink ipod, People always asked why a man had a hot pink ipod, I would always say because no one else there had one, if it got stolen I would know fairly quick who stole it.
