Language that makes you stop reading a post

With the ever-increasing hyperpartisanship happening here at DP and in the country as a whole, I have found myself completely ignoring posts that contain lazy, incendiary language. Things like:

Libtards
Repugnicans
TDS
Fake News

Or starting posts off with overly generalized statements like “you right wingers” or “you leftists”

Are there similar overly used and unproductive words or phrases that just turn you off from reading a person’s post?

The top too, yes.

But...I insist on using republicrats and demublicans.

I’ve only been here a short time, but I have already figured out the posters that are likely to include the type of language you are railing against and tend to scroll past....

Even easier than that: it's usually faster to identify the handles who so frequently use those terms.

Same here, though I feel like I am having to do a lot more scrolling than I used to.

I've been finding that I have trouble not replying in kind.
I'm trying to be good but it's a struggle.

Mostly the attitude that you're stupid just because you don't agree with someone.

Pretty much those any other words that indicate that the poster has shifted their brain into neutral and is just spewing crap for the sake of spewing crap. I don't have time to waste reading things that people haven't bother to put some thought into.

I've been here less than a week and already get irritated with plenty of users who use terms like these.

I like using "fake news" sardonically due to the pervasive use of it by some in a serious manner.

Yes, anything political in nature, though I do like to stay up to date on current events, there's no point in ODing on the same old rhetoric over and over...:roll:

Also anything vulgar...:inandout:...I've run upon some stuff that would make Howard Stern blush...:3oops:

Honestly, although I do agree with progressives on several BIG issues like gay marriage, abortion(except late term{unless medically necessary}), using chosen gender pronouns(by my own choice), and protecting the environment(using smart, effective, reasonable measures, without double standards), I do NOT like the way the leftist elites in the media and elsewhere, go about advancing their ideas, regardless of the negative effects. Its for reasons like that, which makes me incredibly frustrated and angry. I used to occasionally assume that most leftists were just as guilty as the elites when it comes to their scorched Earth strategies. So, I would lash out occasionally against regular progressives on a forum or in YouTube posts. I wouldn't go as far as using lots of personal insults, but I would phrase it in a way that definitely illustrated my anger and frustrations.

Now when posting or talking about politics, I usually try to make it clear that I'm speaking of progressives in positions of power and influence, who I feel are driving the deceptions and false narratives, and not against the average progressive.

But these days, regardless of your ideology, and despite what you hear in the media, lots of people from BOTH sides can be incredibly hateful and vindictive, and they make that perfectly clear by launching into spiteful tirades of personal insults.

I can leave an opinion on a YouTube video, and end up with at least 1 seemingly radical leftist who'll lash out instead of disagreeing and communicating. I've seen progressives being targeted as well. The thing I hate most is when an obvious troll with leave a harshly racist insult in their posts. I will ALWAYS respond to those unnecessary posts by telling the person how unintelligent and hateful it makes them look, and ask that they go away.
