Apparently the pilot, Tammie Jo Shults, was super calm and deliberate. All the things you want in such a situation. But I can see the SNL skit right now.

Tammie is hanging out with Sulley Sullenberger. Zombie apocalypse is occurring everywhere around them as they walk down the street at 1/4 speed pace talking calmly about the chaos that's going on.

Both... nerves of steel.

Bonus points if the real Tammy and Sulley make cameo's and the characters playing them are calm but they are freaking out.

Seems like SNL has retreated back into irrelevance after their anti-Trump bonanza titillated the Trump haters for a bit , they will totally do something like this trying to gin up some interest.

It wouldn't work for SNL however I bet Funny or Die could make it happen.

Gotta admit, I'm feeling a bit of pride. I'm waiting for the story of her Navy career to see if she was on the USS Abraham Lincoln when I was there - but even if she wasn't, as with every other Navy vet, she's my shipmate!

On another note, I used to be one of those sailors who didn't want to see women on ships - none of us wanted to see that happen, and we dreaded all the changes that would be required when women started serving on board. But when I reported on board the Lincoln (I'd been in for 16 years by that point), I slowly came to realize that the ship was cleaner, that the sailors on board (particularly the men) were significantly better-behaved and -spoken than on my previous ships...

...and I came to realize that this was directly due to the presence of hundreds of women on board. Yes, there were the problems we'd all expected - favoritism, pregnancies, sexual assaults (and false accusations thereof), etc. - but these occurred to a much lesser degree than I'd expected (and I worked in a position where I would know - I was a charter member of the SAVI team (Sexual Assault Victim Intervention)). The ship's crew worked better together and the ship's material condition was excellent.

So the heroism of Tammie Jo Shults is just another stick in the eye of those who think that women don't belong in the military. Not all women do...but then again, not all men do, either.

Not bad.

I'd fire off the screenplay, before someone else thinks of it!

The OP had literally nothing to do with tRump and you just had to bring him into this.

I read that she voted for Trump... ridiculous that she is now being commended.

A woman was mortally wounded when an engine piece flew into the window next to her, broke the window and sucked her bloody body halfway out. At which point, the plane decompressed, passengers pulled her back in, a doctor worked on her unresponsive body for 20 minutes and many people thought they were going to die.

A husband has lost his wife and 2 children will grow up without their mother.

Does it occur to you how sick a SNL "skit" would be, and how inappropriate and callous IRL pilot "cameos' would appear?

Appeal to emotion from a right-winger who just loves to troll the left. I saw this derail attempt coming as I was writing the OP. Not a shocker.
