This past Saturday, a man killed 4 people at one time. Not that you would know that watching MSM. They are ignoring it. Why you might ask, after all 4 people were killed in a home? The coroner’s office identified the victims as 72-year-old Joseph Manigault, 69-year-old Rose Manigault, 42-year-old Kenya Manigault and 15-year-old Faith Manigault.

Evidently, murders by way of blunt trauma don't sell the gun narrative. Had he used a gun it would have been extensively covered by MSM, I don't think anyone would argue against that. It's to bad not one of the victims HAD a gun, to stop this guy.

It happened in a private home and it's black crime. It's awful of course but doesn't really compare to a public school being shot up.

I don't smell an agenda just different news reporting priorities.

Plus viewers are pretty desensitized by now.

If you bothered to read the link, you might notice it is local news. Do I need to explain the difference? Just let me know if I can help:2wave:

of course it's not a priority, a gun was not the weapon.

Not only it isn't a mass shooting but, besides lacking the use of a gun, there is a known relationship between the perp and selected murder victims. An official mass shooting requires that the (minimum of 4?) victims are strangers (indiscriminant?) - not carefully selected victims with a relationship to the shooter.

Local news is not mainstream? Or is it not media? :lamo

Local news is local news. Main stream media (I spelled it out for ya) is national. See the difference yet?

Another difference you may notice, only local news is covering it. The big national guys like CNN and stuff, are not.

Northern Light has a point in that it's black crime... Out here in California the kidnapping of white girl is all over the news but the kidnapping of black boy barely raised any attention.

There is that too. Had it been a white man with a gun, CNN would of been all over it.

Umm, mainstream does not mean national

Is English your first language?

When people say the MSM, to what do you think they refer? Hint, things like FOX CNN MSNBC ABC, notice a common theme?

Is there some reason you feel compelled to attempt derailing my threads? You and anyone that reads the title and actually bothers to read links before posting, knows exactly what I meant and what the MSM means.

To be fair, the BN guidelines do not list local TV stations with an internet link as MSM, although they do include local newspapers forced to use the internet as MSM. I rate your post as probably true.

By definition, local news is not Mainstream Media.

"
Mainstream media (MSM) is a term and abbreviation used to refer collectively to the various large mass news media that influence a large number of people, and both reflect and shape prevailing currents of thought.[1] The term is used to contrast with alternative media which may contain content with more dissenting thought as they do not reflect prevailing opinion.

The term is often used for large news conglomerates, including newspapers and broadcast media, that underwent successive mergers in many countries. The concentration of media ownership has raised concerns of a homogenization of viewpoints presented to news consumers. Consequently, the term mainstream media has been widely used in conversation and the blogosphere, often in oppositional, pejorative, or dismissive senses, in discussion of the mass media and media bias.

According to philosopher Noam Chomsky, media organizations with an elite audience such as CBS News and The New York Times are successful corporations with the assets necessary to set the tone for other smaller news organizations which lack comparable resources by creating conversations that cascade down to smaller news organizations using the Associated Press and other means of aggregation. An elite mainstream sets the agenda and smaller organizations parrot it."

Oooh! Snap! Zing! That Chomsky sure told you!

This.

4 people were killed in drug, money, personal or gang related violence somewhere in the US every day. That's not the same as a random, or hate based, act of violence against the general public.

Well, that is rather troubling, don't you think? But I am not so sure you have 4 killed at one time and place, every day.

See post 19, you may find it useful and enlightening. Don't forget the thanks button, it was posted for your benefit!

Ummm, it is a CBS affiliate

Violent crime is at a low and has been declining for decades. The common murders for property or passion just don't carry the zing of psycho/sociopath random targets with nothing or merely a general group in mind.
