Former New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson said this week she keeps a plastic Obama doll in her purse to comfort her during the Trump presidency.
Why does she have an Obama doll?
“It’s easy to look at what’s happening in Washington DC and despair,” Abramson wrote in her political column for the Guardian. “That’s why I carry a little plastic Obama doll in my purse. I pull him out every now and then to remind myself that the United States had a progressive, African American president until very recently. Some people find this strange, but you have to take comfort where you can find it in Donald Trump’s America.”

Wow. So it's one whole person?

This could be bigger than Pearl Harbor!!!

I have one also that sits on my desk but instead of Obama it is...

Did you read the part about her being a former editor of one of Americas largest "news" papers? This should be an indicator of the mentality of the press in America.

Yes, I did. It's wholly and utterly irrelevant to anything.

It's an indicator of what she's like, and that's it

She probably got the doll from a conservative. All she had to do was pull all the straightpins out of it.

I take it you missed the whole "Trumpy Bear" thing. I don't know how many people actually bought one (yes, it's a real product) but it's probably more than one.

The governor of Washington state does finger painting when he gets really really really sad about Trump.

Someones get rich idea. Let us know when a major figure in the media totes one around for "comfort" when Trump leaves office. :lamo

The medias overt hostility of Trump in general, tends to say other wise.

Might have something to do with Trump's overt hostility towards to media.

lol

But this is a non-story. It seems like it's just one person, not some growing trend. But I suppose if y'all have other evidence we can consider it.

Many conservatives don't need dolls to comfort them, they already cower in their secluded communities, surrounded by only like minded people, hiding behind their arsenal of guns, with their heads planted firmly up their behinds

The 'hostility', as you're trying to spin it, has to do with Trump's words and actions. I know that's a bitter pill for some people to swallow. Perhaps there should be a "Twigguh'd Twump Supporter" doll?

SHHHHH!!! You fool! You'll ruin the manufactured outrage and false narrative!

That voodoo that you do do.

How's yours holding up?

Remember a thread about "professional cuddlers" A bunch of college students got together to offer the service, they stated something to the effect of "in the aftermath of Trumps election"

That isn't exclusive to conservatives. In the modern era of social media, the majority of Americans are growing increasingly isolated from outside viewpoints.
