Oh yeah? Well, can you hit a launched arrow with a bullet? No, I can't. I've never tried. But I bet I can hit an arrow with an artillery round, and that's just a big bullet. All I need is a howitzer and some rounds. So there's just a couple of things preventing me...I could totally do it. Prolly need a beehive round. Used to use them on snipers. They got the point.

The bearded ones are kind of an interesting a lot.
That's what I was thinking, the last time I was throwing axes was on one of my son's Boy Scout camping trips.

Yeah it's fun I can see why people do it I haven't done it in years but enjoyed it.

I think it's kind of funny I like there's an underground Club of axe throwers.

There's way worse things you can get into I suppose.

My best guess is that modern life in suburbia doesn't exactly come with lots of opportunities to do Manly Man stuff, in the normal course of events. Yet that desire to do Man-stuff is still there and needs to be satisfied somehow.

Eh...I don't think anyone's likely to injure someone unless they're really drunk and perhaps accidentally toss the things backwards over their shoulder as they're preparing to throw.

From what I gather, a bunch of places are springing up in cities that have a bar in one part, and an axe throwing area in another. Sounds like a decent way to kill a little time.

There's something about being pissed off because you're in the middle of chopping a cord of wood, and you've got a good rhythm going, and some stupid **** happens like, for example, you catch a nail or a spike in the log and mess up your axe head. You throw the axe because, y'know, you're pissed off and that kind of thing helps. Then the axe sticks in a tree or the shed wall or something in just such a way that you figure you couldn't do that again if you tried...so you try again and, after an hour or so of trying, you find you're getting pretty good at throwing the axe but you still have half a cord to split.

Yeah, out in Arizona I don't do that any more but I can sure understand how it happens!

They advertise it as being like darts, but with Axes. Which is not exactly correct as you are just throwing the axes (or hatchets) at a target.

A friend of a friend is really into it. He lives in an apartment in the city and has a big beard. He did it for his bachelor party. Then at his wedding got each of his groomsmen an axe to hang on the wall.

I bet most of those guys vape too.
Axe throwing is part of every loggers sports event all over the west, both sides of the border. It's no big deal.
Don't know why people who live in the city picked up on it, though. Just a bunch of posers, my guess.

Maybe they are just doing it because, you know, it is fun.
