OK peeps. I need some help with an assignment. I am writing a paper for my American Studies class, and I chose to pick apart the symbolism and imagery in the video Jeremy, by Pearl Jam.

At the very beginning, like at :10 seconds in, do y'all recognize the voice that says, "It is very relevant in America today" - who is that? The voice sounds very familiar to me, and would have to be someone from before 1991, which is when the song was written. My professor thinks it's Nixon. I think it's a politician, but cannot be sure which one.

Gerald Ford.

Could be Billy Graham?

I googled the phrase, and the first thing that came back was an older Billy Graham sermon clip, and nowhere in the clip was that phrase mentioned. :(

Thanks, though.

Not only did he say that all the time, it's his voice. ;)

Think about who Nirvana would want to paraphrase sarcastically?

The words are "It's very relevant to America today", not "It is very relevant in America today".

But it could be Ford.
