Scary run-in with the police today.

I don't do myself any favors. I basically clam up and say as little as possible.

I also HATE when they ask where I'm going and where I'm coming from. It's none of their effing business. I get that they're probably testing my attitude or something, but it's still none of their effing business.

You can say "none of your business" with a big smile. :)

Which is why you say

I was at the pornography store I was buying pornography

tldr: Skeptic Bob gets pulled over by cops. They take his weed and let him go. Skeptic Bob still whines like a bitch despite his good luck.

All the while the government holds a patent on weed for medical purposes yet they keep it as a schedule 1 drug. Hit me up in a PM if you ever need to talk. There is always a brother to your left or right willing to take the time, make no difference that you're out now, it's a lifetime pact.

Hey Goshin, we were wondering earlier in the thread, when LEOs confiscate weed, or any drugs I guess, but let you go without charges, what happens to said contraband?

They smoke it later. :)

No seriously, just get rid of it. Don't want to turn it in then you have to 'splain stuff.

I wouldn’t call a marijuana vape natural. Not to mention that even the plant marijuana isn’t really natural nor does natural mean good.

For those with PTSD various drugs do not work well. Add in that PTSD can cause other MI issues to come on. So if grass works, I am fine and dandy with that.
Finding the right drug can be difficult as hell. If they do not work, body can become addicted to it, so going on to another drug regimen, wean down and increase in new drug treatment, well it a bitch.

Then add in the physical affects, heart attacks to autoimmune disorders.

To be honest, I used to feel the same way about PTSD. I figured it was just people giving into fear or not just sucking it up. And I had seen and done some rough things before that didn’t have the same effect on me so couldn’t other people just deal the way I did.

But the human brain is a complicated thing. Get it firing the wrong way and it takes more than mere will power to get it going right. It is an organ, just like the heart or appendix. We don’t tell people with heart attacks or an appendicitis to suck it up.

It took it happening to me to really understand that.

None of my friends or family know about me dealing with this. I don’t want to appear weak. I don’t want them to worry about me. In fact, the only people I have mentioned this to who aren’t paid to listen to me are all of you here at DP. There is a comfort in the pseudo-anonymity.

Well you made the first step to discussing it openly. Next step is seeing a professional, one that deals with ex Military, as many Drs. just do not get it. That Military are and can be the hardest to treat just because they view it as a weakness look for someone that specializes in treating Military/Police/EMT personnel.
As to not informing your immediate family, do you think they do not notice when you have flashbacks?

In this case how would they get rid a $1000.00 worth of vape pens without somebody else finding them at some point?

No idea. There were no vape pens when I was in LE.

Under civil asset forfeiture, and if the cops wanted to be dicks, they could have taken your car... even if they didn't arrest or charge you.

It's a good thing you didn't have a large amount of cash. They probably would have taken that regardless any sympathies they may have had with your service and PTSD. Which is what most jurisdictions really want, anyway. Product equals hassle. Money is free. I-40 in Tennessee is famous for this. Very few busts eastbound, the drugs going to the east coast for sale. Vast majority of busts are westbound, ostensibly the money from the drug sales coming back.

Side note: I've never understood why, with all the "known travel corridors" being so well known, people don't take alternate routes. I mean, what's the hurry?

I read the long version. I teared up, as the emotional agony you went through was palpable. I'm so grateful you were stopped by officers who were able to get to the bottom of what you'd suffered, and where, and gave you a helping hand. I wish I could give you a hug. You, and so many others who suffer ptsd, are in my thoughts; please continue to take good care of yourself. Many of us care about you.
