Oh BTW, Eldest Daughter and her Hubby went on vacation to Oman

During two phone calls today with Dear Old Dad, we touched on some really boring stuff... like health and 2017 K1 income. My two adult daughters tend to communicate more with my dad than me. Their mother and I (married 22 yrs) finalized a contentious divorce in 2011. This former wife, on a Good Day, refers to me as no more than Sperm Donor of her two daughters. Thus, I ask my dad about the daughters. I also wanted to remind him the 2nd oldest has her 25th birthday January 20th. He then mentioned my oldest daughter and her husband have gone on vacation right now in Oman. Dad said they researched and deemed Oman safe.

Hmm thinks I.... a relatively rich Arab male-dominated strict Monarchy safe for two practicing nerdy Jews?

I know little more about the details. I hope to hear more about it in the near future. When the two of them married about 4 years ago, they went to Borneo for their Honeymoon.

In her defense, she had a rough row to hoe with me. She grew up as a Reformed Jew... and I had declared myself "an Avowed Free Spirit"... meaning I made up rules as I went. I agreed to let her raise our daughters as Jews. I never made normal marital vows of monogamy. We never shared a bank account. She seldom used my last name. She continues to have a solid professional career. I tended to do what I wanted.... mainly dozens upon dozens of extramarital affairs. I moved her out of our Master Bedroom about halfway through the marriage. At about the 16 year mark, I announced to my wife and two daughters I had impregnated my mistress. Eventually the wheels fell off the Bus. The mistress, the wife and two older daughters aligned against me. In hindsight, I can't blame them. My polygamous lifestyle brought many people in my life pain. It took years to stabilize my situation.

FWIW, the State Department considers travel to Oman safer than travel to Great Britain, France, Spain, Germany, etc.

I mainly had sex addiction issues, not alcohol or drugs. During 2010 I committed to a then girlfriend (who became my 2nd wife in 2011) to monogamy. In 2014 I committed to living an alcohol and drug free life.

So far, I have only had one of four children marry. She married in Maryland. She did not invite me. She married a Princeton kid. They both have graduate degrees from Ga Tech. Hers in Civil Engineering. His in a Science field. I have a very superficial relationship with my son-in-law... surreal at times. They showed up at my mother's memorial service in 2016. We all acted civil to each other.

I still own the house my adult daughters grew up in. They both know they can reach me whenever they want. At least with myself, I have come to reconcile my past. Progress, not perfection. I mainly want my children happy, healthy... and to outlive me. The 2nd oldest survived a horrific motorcycle accident in November 2015. Brain trauma, ICU for a month in an induced coma, broken left arm, broken pelvis. She actually looks pretty good today.... walks, talks, drives and has dreams about her future.

Yep! And I have a buddy in Indian Rocks Beach that knows how to catch fish and charters fishing trips. You have caught fish with him!

Well, if you know anyone in the IRB area that has a 3 BR 2 Ba condo for rent, 5/11-5/18 gimme a holla. I made my flight and rental car purchase before realizing condos book Saturday to Saturday. I need one that will book Friday to Friday.

I might look into another trip with Cap'n Dave one of these days. Jawstoo baby!
