Back at College.

I was thinking about taking an online class, but I decided against it. My advisor set me up with some good professors, so this semester should be fine.

Best of luck on your college endeavors as well, Supes! :)

Online classes are fine as long as you go with a reputable college, and not one of those diploma mills that you see advertised on TV. You just have to be disciplined, which I am not. But I want to finish and this is the only way I can finish and still be able to go places with my husband.

I only have four. :2razz:

Though, I do have a campus job now, and running the LGBT organization. And they're all upper level classes, and we started last week. Oh, being a senior. lol

Yes, it sucks, but on the other hand, the end is in sight! I'm going to ask if I can get my cap early, so I can go ahead and start decorating it.

Good luck y'all!

You too, baby girl!

You graduate this semester? I don't graduate 'till next fall, but yes, that should be a fun project! You'll have to post a pic.

I finish up at the end of July. I have Spring and Summer and then I am finished. I think I am going to look into Grad school in the fall, but I haven't decided if I am going to start then, or give myself the semester off. I have been going for so long that I need a break.

Started back at college last week too. We are on a quarter system. I took a break but it is good to back in an intellectually stimulating environment.

Should graduate by December (but will attend Spring Commencement).

Nice. I'm looking at grad school, as well. I probably won't take a break, I'm not sure I need it. Especially considering I'll have the summer off. What's your major and what grad school program are you looking at?

Right now, my major is IDIS, with a concentration in social science. I want to do Social Work for the lgbt community, or maybe the transgender community. My school doesn't offer a degree in social work, so they told me to take psych classes. I am so over all the psych classes, and said as much, so they switched me to IDIS and said that with all the psych classes I already have, that'll get me into any grad school for social work.

You?

That's awesome! What made you wanna work with the LGBT community? That's very noble work. :)

I'm an English major, with a minor in history, and I'm actually thinking of doing my grad work in history. Specifically public history. My school has a robust public history program, and I'm going to start working for the Center of Public history next week. It's an interesting field with a lot of hands on work. It feels like a way to use my passion for history to help educate the public, especially people who aren't in school, about their history. I'm eager to learn more and to actually start working. Should be a lot of fun.

History (mainly US history) has always been one of my favorite subjects, and I absorbed it like a sponge. Same with geography.

I guess I just got tired of seeing friends crapped on in the lgbt community. I especially am leaning toward some kind of transgender outreach. I always wanted to go in the direction of helping people, who, quite frankly in red states, don't get much help. Then I took a gender studies class, and broadened my horizons regarding the transgender community. Learned alot about how they are still unprotected, how cops can fight over who arrests them, how doctors can fight over who treats them, etc. Nobody wants to help them, or even treat them like normal people. Pissed me off, so I kind of leaned in that direction. That or, like I said, red state? Lots of kids here who are afraid to come out of the closet because there is no one to help them. At least not down here in the boonies. Thought that'd be a good way to help out.
