Any Proud White People Around Here?

I am just wondering. Because I noticed that there is no section around here for racial topics. If there are any proud White people around here, with no race relations section, I would be amazed if they weren't chased off. But if there are any here and you have the courage to pop your head out of your burrow, let me know you exist.
 
I'm neither proud nor ashamed of being white as I had nothing to do with it.

You can only be proud of something you worked for/achieved.

Since no one can achieve their skin color, pride is not part of the equation.
 
Hey Harvest....I notice this is your first post. I guess you missed the opportunity to introduce yourself. There's a spot to do that on DP. Maybe if you did so, and let people know exactly what it is you're looking for, you'd find out if you're in the right place. Just a suggestion.

The color of your skin is a pretty stupid thing to be proud of, given that it has no relevance to anything.

Er... no. Why?

I mean, I guess increased Vitamin D processing is cool. But ya know, the trade-off is suburning easier, so it kinda balances out.

I find the specific ethnic culture of my European ancestors interesting, but I'm too far removed from it to feel like it's my own. I'm American.

And the only thing that "white people" as a whole have EVER banded together for is... killing other races of people.

So... that's not really something to be proud of, in terms of the concept of all Europeans being one ethnic people, which is a cause only ever taken up by white supremacists.

I mean, you do know that in actual Europe, a lot of people don't see themselves as "white" as a homogeneous group, right? That they're their own ethnic people?

My family wasn't even considered white until 50 years ago. We magically became white by cultural osmosis sometime in the 70's or 80's, and some of us, especially in Europe, still don't really feel that we are. So like... what does that even mean for me?

Pride should be a product of accomplishment. Being born with a certain set of genetics is a matter of random chance. Anything granted by chance is not an accomplishment. Therefore being born white is not something to be proud of.

No one is “white”. We are all varying hues. Me? I’m a little bit ivory/pink with a brown spot or two.

I would honestly like a white supremacist to hang around so I can get to know their views, but it seems none have views that don't involve harm to other races. Good luck!
