Apparently Papa John's doesn't believe two weeks is too late to say sorry.

The popular pizza chain apologized in a string of tweets Tuesday night for comments made on a Nov. 1 conference call with shareholders where CEO and TV pitchman John Schnatter insinuated the ongoing anthem protests have hurt his business.

"The statements made on our earnings call were describing the factors that impact our business and we sincerely apologize to anyone that thought they were divisive. That definitely was not our intention," Papa John's wrote.

"We believe in the right to protest inequality and support the players' movement to create a new platform for change. We also believe together, as Americans, we should honor our anthem. There is a way to do both."

Yep I am the weird one, I actually like Papa Johns pizza. But I did LOL when they tried to blame the protests. Everyone in my family has always hated Papa Johns and I see the cringe on their faces when it's my turn to pick the pizza :lamo

Well I must admit a slice of their pizza has somewhat of a flavor provided you drown it in that garlic sauce thingy of theirs...

Yep, love the garlic sauce. Although I did get vetoed one time when it was my turn to pick the pizza and we had about 9 of our friends over. Never saw a pizza coupe happen so fast lol.

In B4 the usual suspects start claiming this apology is the result of Leftist censorship and oppression and other Dr. Evil-esque conspiracy theories....... lol

Sometimes something sucks, and even partisan nonsense and scapegoating can't cover that up. FU, Papa John, betcha this stunt results in even less pizzas sold.

Actually, John Schnatter is already rich and getting richer because people open up Papa John Franchises. The only ones you hurt as a customer really are the people that run the franchise. John's already got his money from them.

I have a sneaking suspicion that a niece of mine showed up at PJ's HQ wearing a pink ***** hat and gave the PJ dude the finger. That pushed him over the edge. He's trying to recover by binge watching Duck Dynasty.

I believe the agreement gives him a cut of sales. Sales also obviously have an effect on stock price, which hits Schnatter personally and that will also limit his franchise sales.

As I said before, all of this has nothing to do with why I don't buy his ****ty pizza.

Same. I have a couple of local places where I live. I'd much rather go there.
