Yes they had all kinds of forums everything from books to politics. And these forums were international. But they shut them down one by one.

I never knew that Politico had forums either, but in January of 2013 there was a migration here. Great people, and I enjoyed their style--greeting others civilly before getting down to earnest discussion.

For the most part the Amazon forums were civil. In the politics forum you had the constant bickering but only a few got down right nasty and vile.

How many people were likely to be participating in forums on an ordinary day?
 
A good number of forums are going by by.
I was at Thoughts.com (salutations to Brn2bfree and willsblog)and the forum closed in September. So has Offtopicz,Forum Lounge and Random Chatter.
Amazon forums must of been closing for some time. I never see them listed when using Ask or Google.com.
 
I had access to the Amazon book publishers forums for obvious reasons but I avoided it like the plague.

What really sucks is that Amazon bought out IMDB and got rid of their forums, I was there a lot.

I can't address that as the only forum I posted in was the Political one.
