Thanks, hon. Yeah, rust is the worst. I do remember that from my collision department days. It's easier, and usually cheaper, to just replace the panel and you'll have it resolved. I ran a body shop in upstate New York - Syracuse, aka Salt City. :lol: We had a lot of rust there.
And thanks on the silver - I wondered if it oxidized more quickly.
I ended up passing on the car. It just seemed like it was going to cost more to fix it than it was worth.

I live in a place that has a Florida like climate.
I have a 1969 Chevrolet Kingswood Wagon that is rusting from the inside out under the rear windows, plus many other places.
I am going to have to strip the car down and blow it apart to fix all the rust.
There is salt in the air so other than placing each of my cars in a plastic air filled bag, I don't know how to stop the cars from rusting.
