This blew me away...to tears, in fact, what an incredible experience it would have been to see at Long Beach, WA, annual International Kite Festival which is a bucket list item...and I just found out when pulling up a You Tube to show a friends son...back in 2014, he passed away, and I just now found out...trip.
I first heard of Ray some years back from a friend I met on eBay...a very nice and generous retired man who had owned a Kite Store in San Diego...he was in his 70's at the time with some cool stuff left over in his garage...a sort of personal collection...I was in my late 50's early 60's and kites had recently become my latest obsession...and a great 401K...plus good clean fun...gotz lotz but been packed away for apparently, actually close on four years...anyway...
Rich told me that Ray was in his 50's, near thirty-some years prior, and saw his son flying a kite in Hawaii...his son was State Champ or some such at the time...that sparked the flame in Ray to start flying kites...leading to World Champ multi kite flying exhibitions...I don't care for the sound track...I doubt it bothered Ray since he was deaf...enjoy...
