Photos from Puerto Rico...

Actually, my experiences ARE relevant since another member...like you...made assumptions about me.

On the other hand, you are a relative newbie...so your possible ignorance can be used as an excuse, if you so wish.

My statement stands.

What resources is FEMA not being given? Please be specific, and provide sources.

Drivers and fuel for one. A lot of supplies were not able to be delivered because of lack of drivers and fuel. Puerto Rico aid is trapped in thousands of shipping containers - CNN

Plus, the amount of supplies are inadequate,

The department of defense should have been given more authority to move supplies into PR with the ports closed

Your work on the city streets, while admirable, is a world away from military service. I'm sure you made a commitment to your calling, but you have the ability...if you wish to use it...to walk away. A soldier...even National Guard...does not have that ability. He/she has sworn a military oath. You haven't.

Lulz. Utter bull****. Military service is just that: military service. It's nothing special. Just like what I do is nothing special.

I serve with a literal ****-ton of veterans. Oaths mean nothing. Walking it like you talk it means everything. Every last one of them will remind you of that.

You have no idea what you're babbling about.

Are those "veterans" the ones who are shooting people on your city streets?

LOL!!

They couldn't find anyone to drive a truck? Is that what you are saying?
You are also saying that the amount of supplies is inadequate. Why would that matter if they don't have drivers?
How about the fact that infrastructure is destroyed and they have to come up with other ways to deliver? Takes a bit of initiative. Do locals have boats? How else can they help?
Get real about pasting all this nonsense on the WH. A disaster of this proportion warrants thinking outside the box. Complaining has been exhausted and hasn't helped much. Time for everyone to roll up their sleeves and get things done. Community organizing, a noble concept.

Thank you for that. Military families are the greatest, strong and self reliant.

I thought that they were prone to splitting up. Moving around from base to base with a disabled, unstable, or absent parent can be traumatizing.

As for veterans going on shooting sprees in the city streets, that's simply not a trend.
Are military veterans more likely for shooting sprees? - The San Diego Union-Tribune

LOL!!

You should know by now...I've talked about my military service and my family a lot over the years. I always made sure my family's needs were met. Even when I was deployed. I NEVER refused to report for duty.

I suggest that your family was safe, had a roof over their heads and plenty of food and water too. Are you saying you would have left them in a ditch to fend for themselves rather than refuse to report? I don't think so and I hope not.
