Per this:
This site leans heavily liberal, in my opinion.

Let's see who leans what way? Also taking into consideration nationality as best I can with 10 poll choices.

Sorry, but it'll be US Citizen, or Not US Citizen for the poll.

What exactly do you mean by "something other than other"? If its not any of the choices (liberal/conservative) then by definition it is "other" there is no "other than other".

Other.....

I lean a little bit liberal on healthcare and education.

I lean a little more conservative on fiscal responsibility & national defense.

With that said, I find both parties doing little to competently execute any of the above.

I said that I'm "Other". I guess I need to change my "Lean" label. I favor decentralized government for most things and also endorse the right to have an abortion on demand.

I favor Decentralized Government so that eliminates me from either national political party. In step with this, I oppose the intrusion of government into my life in every way possible. Also a defining factor of both political parties.

I also oppose increased national debt and support increasing personal responsibility. Both of these also exclude from either national political party.

I think this pretty much includes almost all of the country.

Some people are just a giant pain in the posterior and need that one extra choice so they can appear to be totally different.
Consider that to be the "look, a squirrel" option.

We are in the "off topic" section after all.

Not sure I trust that as much, or at least not as up-to-date.
Also, lots of non-active members in that data.

Looking for a snap-shot of today.

It will be more accurate than what you'll get out of a poll. Particularly considering that 1: Not everyone is going to selection a poll option, much less even see the thread. 2: You do not have the detail that it does available due to the amount of poll options available.

Well since 44% of the people here are listed as 'undisclosed' we will never know for sure.

There's always that one person who has to be the problem-child about how/why polls are created, and the options available for voting.

Apparently today it's your turn. ;)

And :2razz: to you, there's a vote for "something other than other" :lamo

Too bad I'm not voting huh? ;) You've been linked to a page which keeps track of the very thing that you're asking for. No need to answer the poll.

i lean European center left. i support things like not going bankrupt if you get sick, better public transportation, and a sustainable long term model for the continued success of the country.

You are truly a full blown communist.

I also include social support for poor/elderly and those that need it.
Fiscally - Conservative, a strong military.
Liberal- high quality schools accessible to all, HC for all, SSM and laws protecting those subsets of the population from discrimination.
Cannot compare Canada to the US as our Constitutions are quite different, when it comes to States rights, or in Canada Provincial rights

Should have just stuck to liberal and conservative too many people say "other" but they lean left or right so much that they would never vote for the other side

Jesus dude...that link, if I'm not mistaken, is for a site wide statistic that covers all 27,000+ members. Right?

How many of those are actually ACTIVE?

I'm looking for a snapshot of ACTIVE members right now. At most I'm assuming between 100 and 200 members actively post.
So the link is not quite relative to what MaggieD has proposed in her thread.

What is our current site lean regarding ACTIVE members?

Capisce?

If you want to try to pigeon-hole people into a bucket of your choice be my guest.
I don't care to force people to align with one specific ideology or the other.
Especially since that's not the way the world works.

Except that everyone thinks they are a special snowflake when only few really are. Thats why "Independent" is the highest lean and the highest in party representation polls despite the fact that 85% of people will only ever vote for only D's or only R's

If you have a poll "other" will always win and that will tell you nothing. So you can say you dont want to pigeon hole people but youre just going to end up with the non-answer of "other" and miss the true goal of finding out if DP leans right or left.

UK, Sheffield.

I was a Thacherite in the 1980's, a bit left of her but, and without changing my thinking at all I now find myself on the far left of UK politics. Not as far as Corbyn but I think he ia almost the closest.

So over all; confused.

Other - I'm a fiscally responsible, gun toting, pro military, planned parenthood supporting, think anybody and everybody who embraces the american dream ought to have a place in our great country, love our public schools and universities and would really like to see medicare for all.
