Haven't seen much of my neighbor's koi this summer, the hot weather must've coaxed them to the surface yesterday. These guys are probably about 20 years old, or so. The big orange guy in the middle shot is about 28 to 30 inches long, the others only slightly smaller. It was a beautiful scene with the sky and clouds reflecting off the pond (more of a small lake). There's some huge algae eaters in there too, but they rarely come close to shore. You can see them lumbering about out in the middle. I have mistaken them for beaver, that's how big they are, lol.

It's a very old pond, built in the 1800's. A friend of mine who has been fishing there for many years has caught some huge large mouth bass out of it. I used to take the granddaughters fishing there when they were little, all we ever caught were bluegill, lol.

We've got a little koi pond, we still have to stock it but we're close to one of the biggest koi breederies on the west coast and need to run up there sometime.
