Tracking the eye of Irma

With the storm surge expected and the winds, chances are, it may not be standing tomorrow.

I've got family in Naples and Tampa area. They have all been told to evacuate. My nephew and his family just relocated to Naples because of his job. They haven't been there a year. They have 4 young boys and I am sure this is scary for all of them.
 
Just talked to my brother. Nephew and family evacuated Naples Thursday. It took 18 hours to drive from Naples to Atlanta. Any other time it would have been an 8.5 hour drive. They could not find a hotel room and ended up sleeping in the car. They left early this morning and just rolled in at by bro's place. Thank you G-d.

Good thing they chose to leave when they did. If they were still there and suddenly decided it wasn't a good place to be...

Absolutely! Tomorrow I am going over to bro's just to collect some hugs.

And just a couple of weeks ago bro bought an awesome camper trailer. It sleeps 8. Has a complete kitchen with oven, full size fridge, stove, microwave, and bathroom. Two flat screen TV's.... I'm thinking if their home gets destroyed, bro will pull the trailer down and sit it on their property providing them a home while their home gets rebuilt.

The forecasts have been off thus far with the error continuing to be that this thing keeps heading further west than anticipated. It's looking like this trend will continue and the direct hit may well be Tampa or even further north... which is actually bad news. It keeps it out over warm water longer.

Glad to hear they made it out safe and sound, if tired. Excellent they have a neat place to stay, camper or even in your brother's house. Much better than hoteling it. Enjoy the hugs. :)
 
I hope all our Floridians and Floridian in general, have made it to safety.
