American Airlines is offering $99 flights out of Florida. My shirttail family works for American. One a pilot. One a flight attendant. AA is flying as many 777s as they can into Miami tomorrow to begin trying to evacuate, not only residents, but cruise passengers who have been dropped in Miami unexpectantly in order to save their ships. There are several thousand of them... dropped in a strange city with few ways to leave.

Corporate responsibility at its very best.

Heard anything else going on?

What the cruise ships are doing is pretty gross, but what A.A. is doing seems fair. They're probably operating at a loss by offering flights for only $99.

I'm not so sure there was a choice. There would never have been a consensus among passengers. Depending on where and how far they have to go tomget to safety, supplies would be an issue. And if they couldn't get out of the weather, it would be disastrous. It's probably a case of damned if you donand damned if you don't.

Been on a few cruise ships,, I don't know if they could outrun the storm enough to find a "safe Place" to drop off passengers.. And I don't think I would want to ride out the storm either..
