Thoughts?

I'd be happy to contribute to a home improvement fund, or even the honeymoon, as my gift, but I'm not contributing a dime to a "dream wedding". But hey, that's just me.

What a waste of money. They wonder why they are broke.

There are suckers out there...I am sure somebody will contribute but it ain't me...

So these people who apparently don't have any money, want to waste thousands of dollars on what basically amounts to an overpriced photo op that won't contribute anything to their life the day after it's over?

I think I figured out how they wound up broke.

I mean, if other people with more money than sense want to contribute to their continued extended childhood and inability to handle a checkbook, fine. But personally, I think it'd be better for their marriage if they just grew up already.

That it apparently works well enough for people to do the work of doing it should help you figure out that America is a wreck.

If you dont already know, some do, some dont.

:2wave:

Not just no, but hell no. These people have no business getting married, they have absurdly unrealistic expectations and can't deal with reality as it is. Screw 'em.

I wonder if they'll turn to fundraising for the 'Dream Divorce' that will likely follow in 5-6 years

I would be more likely to donate to that. :)

I'd be happier to donate to a "shoot yourself in the head" fund. Some people shouldn't live.

As are most charity collecting setups they start out with good intentions. Then anytime you have a pile of money sitting around here come the empty hands.

I have given to Go Fund Me projects before. My last one was a coworker's daughter whose house was flooded out . Never met the daughter but why not. Then came a coworker who started a Go Fund Me for her daughter to help pay expenses in playing a sport in Europe. And now it seems weekly someone's kid is collecting money so she can jump rope for this or that charity. Then we have the worker wants to bowl or dance for some charity. Not to mention the parade of coworkers kids selling stale cookies for their school.

For once I want to see someone come up ask me money for their group collecting money for a charity and they want us to pay so much a mile of road they plan to pick up trash on. That would be win win. Money for the Charity and trashed picked up in their community.

Or instead of the "hero" riding his bicycle across the country for "X" charity why not have him go work for a year and give up the money he makes for that charity. But no, it becomes more about him pushing that bicycle across the states and accepting meals and rooms from good citizens. Maybe I am just a little negative here.

Some people have no shame. Pathetic.

I would rather donate money to a food bank, or help someone who is desperate due to being sick or homeless
