Well I started another Marvel show this weekend. Iron Fist, only watched the first two episodes but i like it! Never read the comics so i have no clue how it compares but I like it none the less and I actually expected NOT to like it so it must be pretty good.

So far Id say i rank the marvels i watched like this

Luke Cage
Jessica Jones and Daredevil 1
Dare Devil 2

and it seems Iron Fist might squeeze in that number two spot by itself or a three way tie.

What other marvel or comic stories are good on netflix?

You might also wanna try out Marvel's S.H.E.I.L.D sometime, too.

Iron Fist is awesome, but I don't think anything will ever beat the sequence in Luke Cage where he goes into that apartment building and tears **** up, with Wu Tang Clan playing in the background. Could not stay seated through that part the first time I watched it, and I broke a lamp. My wife was super impressed...haha

So you recommend shield also? thanks ill give it a try . . ive seen previews for it and for some reason it never ha appealed to me BUT that was also true about Breaking Bad and lord of the rings and i was totally wrong soooooo :)

lol

yeah that is a cool sequence . . i like how they are separate shows but their worlds still intertwine. I like how Rosario Dawson/Claire Temple is in Luke, JJ and DD

i noticed they played some Wu in ironfist too.

Yes, Ironfist is really good - though if I had to do it all over again, I'd wait until season 2 came out, and binge watch both... #NoSpoilers!! lol

That actually is kinda nice when that happens .. .
I didnt watch breaking bad until 2015 . . .it was already over. I watched after i had surgery cause I had nothing else better to do and i was SO MAD that I never watched it before but also so happy.

Same thing with lord of the rings . . .i watched the first one on HBO, loved it and just by change 2 was coming out at the movies that week so there was no delay for me :)

Yup...now that you can stream / download everything, I'm usually a season or more behind on everything. Makes talking about it at work suck, but other than that, pure awesome....though the way things are released now, all at once, it does make a long wait between seasons if you binge watch in a couple weekends. The latest season of House of Cards took forever to come...

Yeah I love HoC too!

IF is boring. I'm in it and yawning so much. Hated JJ, loved Like Cage.
I think DC has the better shows, Arrow and Flash (and to a lesser extent, Legends) Marvel has better movies.

We're eagerly awaiting the Punisher series.

lol Olnate.

Marvel shows are hit/miss with me, I like maybe half of them.
Luke Cage I felt was the all around best, it was a good work of art, felt really cohesive, and really developed the villains and side characters to make it a good story. And Luke when had the afro and beard, epic.
Jessica I felt had potential, but she and her friend got really repetitive real quick. Poor Jessica never developed. The villain/british guy...he was the most developed character and stole the show IMO.
Iron Fist felt kind of cheesy to me, I thought the dojo girl was cute, that's about it. May not continue that one.
Dare Devil always put me to sleep, dark scenery, slow...I don't know, I tried twice and no dice.

Anyway, the other one I really like is Legion, it's on Hulu though I think. It's different, a bit artsy and boring some times too...but it's highlights and overall story I found mesmerizing.

Edit: that Defenders video looks fun, can't wait.

1.) so far i like it but like i said only 2 episodes
2.) loved JJ but im a ritter fan so maybe im biased lol
3.) never watched either but if you say they are better ill have to check them out!
4.) im waiting too!

Netflix has done surprisingly well with their Marvel properties. They are not campy or over the top with gratuitous violence and fan service. I wasn't as happy with Iron Fist as I was with Jessica Jones or Luke Cage but I still enjoyed it. I'm definitely looking forward to The Defenders.

I have been pretty impressed with quite a few of Netflix's originals. Some of them are surprisingly entertaining.

The flash is more "fun" and doesn't take itself too seriously. The interplay between the team is worth the watch, totally. The arrow is a bit different, of a show, but I'd suggest watching it first and once you meet Barry Allen go watch the flash. Eventually there is another show, Legends of Tomorrow that carries most of the side players from the Flash and Arrow. They do some crossover events including a 3 parter that's worth watching through.

I heard mixed things about Luke Cage, so glad to hear someone with positives.

Early on DD and they seem to be well done, although quite frankly, a bit slow. JJ was well done and it seemed a bit more engaging.

Agents of Shield is disappointing by comparison. I've seen them all and while it is engaging, perhaps they feel more constrained by network tv. Feels a bit more cheesy.

Yeah, I liked the Flash for some reason. Some die hard comics friends of mine bash it, but then they watch ones I find boring.

I don't like the other DC much, but the Flash was pretty fun.

Is tarted with the Flash and watched the arror to line the crossovers up, made a lot more sense of the mentions and goings on that way. So stoked for Season 4. DC movie Flash can piss on an ant hill, think that was a bad move on their part

Iron Fist, to me, was the worst of the the Netflix Marvel bunch thus far imho. The action had me massively disappointed; the fact that the fight scenes and martial arts in Daredevil was far superior to that of a character who's whole purpose is to be essentially THE martial artist was disappointing. Finn just couldn't handle the necessary chops for the fighting in the show.

Agents of Shield has grown to be very good. The first season, up until the point where Winter Soldier came out in theaters, was rather bad. However, from that point forward it was on a solidly upward trajectory.

Arrow season 1 and 2 were GREAT, and this past season was very good as well. Season 3 was "eh" and season 4 was some of the worst shlock I've had to trudge through for a TV show ever. Just so bad.

Flash is solid to good at any given point. It's beginning to get a little repetitive in style, and this later half of the past season was a bit too dark for a show that does best when it's light hearted. But it's a solid watch.

I feel like the Marvel Netflix shows are better shows, but the DC ones are easier ones to enjoy at times. A lot more light in nature, everything isn't quite so serious, and they're made to be easier to pick up and just watch one and be done where as the Marvel ones just feel made to be binged. Agents of Shield is much more in line with the DC shows.

1.) Ugh really? man thats kinda disappointing . . . You make a good point though I WOULD expect it to be better than DD simply because of that fact. Like I said Im only two episodes in though.
2.) they havent appealed to me yet but it is on the list
3.) how would you rank arrow vs Jessica Jones, Dare devil 1 and 2 and Luke Cage?
4.) the character flash has NEVER really appealed to me but im still gonna give it a go, it will have to be extra good to win me out though
5.) thanks for the info Z!

I actually put Luke Cage and Jessica Jones at the very bottom of the list. Sure, Daredevil Season 2 wasn't nearly as good as season 1, but very rarely is a second season as good as an excellent first season. Things tend to go down, not up. Iron Fist was better than Luke Cage and Jessica Jones. Who knows how Punisher or Defenders will be.

My issue with Luke Cage was that there was no credible threat to Luke (beyond those bullets but even then not a big deal). Jessica Jones was my favourite because Kilgrave was genuinely terrifying. Getting all those innocent people to kill themselves? Ruthless.
