The IRS?

I got this voice mail message claiming to be from the IRS in Seattle, WA: 206-905-1069. And that I was under a criminal investigation. The guy who answered the call said, "Internal Revenue Service" and sounded foreign.

I asked the guy for some information including his badge number which he refused to give, after another question he hung up the phone!

Total scam, don't worry. They call me too...funny part, I'm a Canadian citizen...lol.. I advocate for spamming the **** out of that number, so that they can't scam gullible people. :)

It's a VERY common scam. The IRS will not call you and if you're in big trouble with them you'll know because the guys with gold badges and guns will show up at your door.

I think I saw a video of a programmer that made an auto spammer for those numbers

That is awesome. I would love to get my hands on such a device. Cops can't do anything about these donuts, but this feels like something "we, the people" could address...
