My avatar has nothing to do with political preference.
 
I wished people just leave their damn avatars alone. The one you pick will last you a lifetime. It quickly becomes associated with you.

Mine speaks for itself. Holding a burning ice hot ember in my fist.
 
I'll change my avatar once a year. My avatars usually mean something to me.

My current avatar is a photo of the M/V Quinalt. She was a ferry boat built in San Francisco and replaced by the Golden Gate Bridge, in 1934 she was sold to Puget Sound Navigation who operated the Ferries up here until 1951 when the state of Washington assumed control of ferries. In the 1980s two of my relatives worked on a refurb project in which Quinalt and three sister ferries from San Francisco were all modernized. The ferries served until 2007 ending 80 years of service.

I grew up near a WA state ferries dock and the Quinalt ran out of that dock until 2002, I have a distant memory from the late 1990s of riding on the Quinalt boat in a storm, being terrified by the rain and the wind as the boat is rocking and I can't see anything outside of the car deck because it's night time and my father comforting me during this.

It's an improvement for sure. Boss Hog was funny as hell. I've kinda always wanted big horns on the front of my car.
 
I took the name Hawkeye many years ago on Rail Fan Forums because the IC Hawkeye (Later years Amtrak Black Hawk) ran right in front of my house in Rockford Il growing up. At some point while I was at A2K I did an avatar at Gravatar of a hawks face, playing up the eyes to make it about "Hawkeye sees well" which fit because I was constantly under attack almost from the jump, at first I think it was because I was advocating an age of consent of of 15. When I got here I could not figure out how to transfer it so I picked what I picked as a filler because I love the movie Blade Runner (Original) and it was a bit like my hawkeye avatar. At some point I decided that I am different enough here that I should not use my A2k avatar.

I notice avatars, there are a few I kinda look for and a few I kinda dont. If it is a long post I will look to see who wrote it as I judge if and how much I should bother reading, looking for an avatar first.

I got a deer skull I have considered mounting on my ride:lamo

As a Fl cracker, boss hog seems like a yankee! I have seen enough of the urinating chimp, it was funny but not as timeless as boss! PS, I post on another political forum with a different user name, but I always fly the same avatar.
