Barbie's Ken has had a few makeovers

As a man with masculine traits, not this girly man bun skinny jean pink shirt wearing wanker view.

Do you know any men with masculine traits?

Nice insult. Well, not really. The approach you took is kind of pussified. You could have just attacked me directly instead of suggesting something like you did.

The last Ken doll was bad, but this is like 10000 times worse. At least the old Ken doll was kind of masculine if you look past a lot of stuff, I guess, but with this there is no digging to get to it. There is so much stuff here that is inspired by girly trends that there is basically nothing else.

What would be a favorable way to portray a Ken doll, in your opinion?

Why not have a liberal Ken. Ya know..... the metrosexual looking type that could be standing at the Starbucks coffee bar at Barns & Nobles book store drinking his Caff'e Mocha Latte discussing discussing those moronic "publicans" with the barista.

Why not have a conservative Ken. Ya know........The camo dressed half bearded guy filling the tank on his bass boat with a 7-11 coffee in his other hand and a cooler full of Busch. Gotta give him a smirk too because he's probably going to be chuckling at some metrosexual 2 pumps over who can't figure out the gas cap on his BMW.

Gotta give you, props, bud, at first I thought you were just full of hot air, but you are really *really* up on the Barbie franchise.

Just wanted to give you the shout out for being an expert, back to your discussion on making a case for a more masculine Ken...

lol...

I'm ok with not being up to date on the Barbie Franchise. :2razz:

Also, I find it fun that liberal men have a problem with my position. I wonder why? :lamo

lmao...k, so, I honestly feel like breaking my own rule of forum anonymity and send you my pic, just so you can laugh your head off at how badly that liberal generalization describes me.... lol... Then again, I live in rural Canada, they still lynch people for having a Starbucks cup in your possession rather than a Tim Horton's cup out here. (Will understand if you don't know what Tim Horton's is, I'd say it's more Canadian than maple syrup, "eh", and politeness combined).

I dunno, that was a pretty good analysis of the masculinity levels of various Ken versions, I'm not sure a Barbie 101 student could get there, that's 201 at least! :p haha

I'm liberal, and I don't have a problem with it...everyone's allowed their insecurities and their over compensations, and frankly I find it positively awesome that you feel free to express yours through the topic of little girl's dolls, that's very enlightened and forward thinking of you. Good for you, buddy, congratulations on disassembling toxic masculinity one subpar masculinity level Ken doll at a time! ;) haha

Just talking smack here. ;)

Been in many Tim Horton's. I still have family in PEI & Newfoundland.

Ah, so you're familiar with the double double then. Nice! Hopefully you get out to PEI often...the lobster in New Glasgow is to die for.

Not in the past 12 years. I want to go back to Newfoundland before I croak. My bucket list sailing adventure is to sail to Placentia Bay from my area, but my current boat isn't really blue water capable and the edge of the grand banks can get rough really quick.

I left many friends and family behind after I got transferred from Argentia.

My relatives in PEI are all in Charlottetown, and there are quite a few sprinkled in around Fox Habour, and Placentia NFLD.

I like that dolls are more like people.
