Did you plan on having children? Or, did it happen by accident?

Wife wanted 6, I wanted 2, we had 3...I say I won that skirmish.

As for plan my wife was occasionally on birth control, but we never had a plan. We lost the first two (ended up 3...miscarriages), we mostly left it up to God (Wife is Catholic).

In later years she was often gone (Iraq et al).

No kids. I do plan on having kids, and considering my situation, they will be highly planned and more than likely, quite expensive.

Yep. Waited until both of us got a tech school associates and were settled in our jobs for a few years.

I have no children but my girlfriend has three.

Guess I ran the gamut.

1. Unmarried, child was put up for adoption.

2. Married, had child that wasn't planned

3. Married my current Wife who already had a child.

Have none, don't want 'em and made damned sure none ever came about by accident.

THere was a brief time, in my early 40's, when the idea sounded appealing. But it passed.

Cant say we PLANNED the kids, just kinda decided we would like to have 'em and then we did. The use of the word planned kinda makes it sound like some sort of military operation or scientific endeavor, so I dont like that term.

No kids, and I'm not planning on having any. But maybe someday, a long time from now, I might adopt a child.

Yes, we were married and my husband and I discussed having children and how many we wanted.

We wanted 4 children and we were very lucky to have 4 children. ( they are all grown now with homes of their own).

I did have 2 miscarriages between our 2ed and 3rd child so the spacing was greater between our first two and our second two than we thought it would be , but the older two helped us so much with the younger two.

We were truly blessed.

I am 56 years old & have no children; this was a choice from an early age & for multiple reasons

I made the correct choice for myself, and with no regrets :)

We wanted kids, we got married and had them. We were debating having a 3rd but leaning towards yes so we weren't using birth control and the decision was made for us... I shut off the spigot shortly thereafter (just shy of my 27th birthday) as we didn't want 4. First one was born a little less than 9 months after we got married, next one 21 months after and third one 20 months later... it was a trying time.

From left to right they are now a mechanical engineer, a metallurgical/materials engineer and teacher/activities director at a private school.

I need to vote on multiple options.

I was married when I had both of my kids. My first was very, very planned, and my second was decidedly not planned. We would probably have had a second child eventually anyway, we just didn't intend to have one so soon after the first.

I've now had a vasectomy, so if there are any more unplanned children, I'm going to be having words with someone.

Although it's very rare, you do know that it has happened that vasectomy's have reversed themselves naturally

I have no kids, that i know of! keep in mind the literal that I know of, I am certain somewhere someone will walk up and say hey remember that night we got wasted followed by surprise!

I did have a girlfriend I broke the condom on, I was maybe 21 then, she ended up having a miscarriage early on though, but it did teach my the valuable lesson of pulling out until I am ready for it, because it is not a mistake you can undo or ignore, it is yours for life whether you planned on it or not, and ofcourse the planned on it is always the better option.

Married, planned on having 2 kids, had 2 kids as planned. Funny how it works out that way.

I always wanted to have kids. After I got married, I had two! Ended up raising five... long story.

I'm interested in hearing your tale if you feel like telling it.

No kids, not married. I'm not very interested in either one, although kids have always been a hard "no" while marriage has always been a "I don't want to and don't see the point, but if it's that big of a deal to my partner, maybe." I got fixed 5 years ago, so the kids thing is definitely a closed question now.

All too familiar tale. Got divorced, raised two kids alone for a while, married a man who was also divorced, then his ex-wife literally showed up at our front door with three young kids carrying all their belongings in paper bags. So we brought them into the house, bought a few new beds and, years later, ultimately ended up with five teenagers at the same time! I figured if I could survive that, I could survive anything, lol.

Damn straight. Was that mostly boys or girls?
